This two-step verification: a medical journalist and a doctor allows us to provide the highest quality content in line with current medical knowledge.
Our commitment in this area has been appreciated, among others, by by the Association of Journalists for Health, which awarded the Editorial Board of MedTvoiLokony with the honorary title of the Great Educator.
Zapalenie różnych odcinków nerwu wzrokowego występuje najczęściej w przebiegu chorób zakaźnych, reumatycznych, neurologicznych (stwardnienie rozsiane), w cukrzycy, w zatruciach.
Początek jest zwykle nagły – następuje bardzo duże osłabienie ostrości wzroku, mroczki w polu widzenia, czasem bóle w oczodole podczas ruchów oka.
Treatment
Choroba wymaga szybkiego leczenia, najlepiej szpitalnego, gdyż może spowodować zanik nerwu wzrokowego i nieodwracalne osłabienie wzroku lub całkowitą jego utratę.
