How do people vaccinated with COVID-19 get sick?
An Italian newspaper quotes Professor Franco Locatelli, the coordinator of the scientific-technical advisory committee, who said: “A limited percentage of people who are fully immunized can become infected, almost always without developing disease and contamination”. As he noted, further research is required to determine what is the so-called virus load in the respiratory tract of vaccinated and infected.
The issue, the journal points out, has been widely discussed after US experts warned that vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant could transmit the virus, and that its load is likely to be the same whether or not you are vaccinated.

Research into rare cases of coronavirus in fully vaccinated people is ongoing at the Bambino Gesu Hospital in Rome. It found that out of 2900 people, 40, or 1,5 percent, were infected after two doses.

The Italian researcher added: The immune response in vaccinated people is swift also in the nose; in a short time the defense comes on and in two or three days it is able to lower the load of the virus and finally eliminate it.
According to the journal, these studies show that the vaccinated person can become infected and have a high viral load, like those who have not taken the preparation. The difference, however, is that the unvaccinated develops an infection and can infect for days and become seriously ill. Those who get vaccinated may become infected only for a short time from one to three days, and the risk of severe symptoms is very rare.
“The vaccinated test negative more quickly than the unvaccinated,” added Massimo Andreoni, an infectious disease specialist from the Tor Vergata Polyclinic in Rome.
