PSYchology

Any diet aimed at weight loss is associated with the need to eliminate many foods from the diet. But try to replace the word «exclude» with the word «include» (namely vegetables and fruits) — and your diet will be much more effective.

Any diet aimed at weight loss is associated with the need to eliminate many foods from the diet. But try to replace the word «exclude» with the word «include» (namely vegetables and fruits) — and your diet will be much more effective. An experiment conducted by medical nutrition specialist Jenny H. Ledikwe and her colleagues from the University of Pennsylvania (USA) showed that overweight people whose diet was focused on taking low-calorie foods (9-12 servings of vegetables and fruits and 2-3 servings of low-fat dairy daily) lost more weight than those whose diet was based on reduced total calories. It turned out that sticking to such a diet is psychologically easier: vegetables and fruits saturate without adding calories, and in addition, they fully supply the body with fiber, vitamins and minerals.
