In the wake of the state of emergency in Kislovka: psychologists named the rules that will help save life

Remember and share these rules with your children. At first glance, simple tips will help schoolchildren cope with panic, navigate correctly in a difficult situation and, perhaps, even survive.

The story that took place in the village of Kislovka shook the whole country. 10 schoolchildren went on a ski track with a physical education teacher, got lost and wandered in the cold for almost seven hours. In the evening, all of them were taken out of the forest by local residents and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, after which they were all hospitalized. Fortunately, no one received severe injuries or hypothermia, but the schoolchildren were very scared, they cried a lot.

– Of course, we want to protect the child always and everywhere, but what if, for some reason, he was left alone and got into a difficult situation? It’s simple: to teach him in advance how to cope in an emergency and what to do in order not to lose his presence of mind, – says medical psychologist Tatyana Grishaeva. – Here are some simple rules.

1. Educate children about the rules of behavior in a possible emergency. In this case, your main assistant can be a regular school textbook on life safety. Practice with the children in using protective equipment, play the game: “How will I behave in different situations.” Make a Family Action Plan for an Emergency, which will tell you how to deal with alarms; how to behave if you have been attacked by a dog or stranger; how to provide first aid, how to contact family members, etc. Study with your child what signs to navigate if he gets lost in the forest.

2. Write down emergency phone numbers in the telephone directory and agree that if any trouble happens to your child, he will IMMEDIATELY call you and SOS services.

3. Teach your child to stay calm and avoid panic in an emergency. Show him breathing exercises that will help calm down (sometimes it is enough just to exhale deeply). Teach your children to be independent! They should be able to rely on themselves and make decisions competently.

4. Try to reduce the amount of negative information children receive through the media.

5. Build confident behavior in children through sports and physical training. From a psychological point of view, the harmonious development of a child is achieved by an integral process of the psychological and physical process. A good example in this case is the behavior of parents. Before correcting the child, pay attention to yourself and do “correcting mistakes.”
