Dutch brewery Lowlander brewed Winter IPA beer from Christmas trees.
The campaign to minimize waste From Tree to Tipple (“From tree to drink”) started back in December 2018, writes “Agro-Center”, citing Bit.ua. The drink is made from the branches of recycled Christmas trees. Thus, the brewery reduces the number of unnecessary trees and turns them into something tasty.
Christmas trees for making beer were collected by restaurants and bars in Amsterdam, the city botanical garden and volunteers. In total, about a thousand trees were collected for processing, from which 600 kg of needles were obtained.
The beer from the Christmas tree branches turned out to be light, light and with aromas of an evergreen forest and a smack of citrus and hops. The company is already waiting for a new “harvest” of Christmas trees for a delicious drink.
Recall that earlier we talked about the pragmatic know-how – edible Christmas trees, and also shared recipes for delicious treats for the Christmas tree.
