In Poland, abortion is practically unavailable. And at our neighbors?

Polish law – for several days – has allowed abortion only in two cases: when pregnancy is a threat to the health or life of the mother and when it is the result of a prohibited act. However, with our Czech, Slovak and German neighbors, things are completely different.

  1. Czech or Slovak abortion clinics advertise in Polish – doctors working there also know our native language, perform on-site examinations, provide a high standard of service, are discreet and pleasant
  2. In the Czech Republic, the procedure costs as much as a good-class crib – PLN 1800
  3. The procedure is possible there in the first three months of fetal life, provided that the woman obtains the consent of the gynecologist after a medical interview.

Krzysztof had two women. The first of them was his wife – they met while still in high school, they sat together in the bench in their final-year class. In college, they already lived together, a child quickly appeared. She – took care of raising little Krysia. He – started his professional career. They began to develop unevenly. She – socially. He – intellectually. And although Krzysztof respected his wife for the way she cared for the house, friendships and their mutual relations, he was impressed by women who achieved something professionally. This is how he met Klara – a doctoral student who organized the conference. She collaborated with his company. They went on a delegation together. He couldn’t bear it – he came to her room on the very first night. The sex was great, Klara was young and open-minded.

They did not stop at one time. Klara had her allotment in Saska Kępa, and there was a wooden roof. Krzysztof met her there at least once a week. He would come with a lunch bought in a nearby restaurant, Klara turned on an atmospheric light, and tall spruce trees peeked into the windows. They were wonderful together. For three years. Then the relationship started to burn out, but … Klara got pregnant.

  1. Judgment of the Constitutional Tribunal. What will happen to women who planned to terminate their pregnancy?

She told him about it in the restaurant over a candlelit dinner. She waited for his reaction. “I have a wife and a child,” he replied confused. “I don’t want to change my life,” he added. He saw the merry lights go out in the girl’s eyes. They made the decision to abort together, and Krzysztof felt obliged to pay for everything. The girl was supposed to come alone for the procedure. They did not know anyone in Poland who would undertake the task. Klara knew from her friend that there were special buses taking women to the Czech Republic. On the spot, a gynecologist, in a private clinic, greeted her with a joke – I bought a scraper at home. Clara thought that she would never start a family because of this abortion.

  1. Polish gynecologists: this decision will set us all back

Czech movie

Support for the legality of abortion in the Czech Republic is the highest in Europe. 81 percent when asked is yes. Once abortion in the Czech Republic was strictly prohibited, but since 1950 there has been a gradual liberalization of the law. Currently, the procedure is possible in the first three months of a fetus’s life, provided that the woman obtains the consent of a gynecologist after a medical interview – a willing patient must know about possible medical consequences and have a six-month break from any previous abortion.

Simple? Yes, if you have money. Abortion clinics advertise themselves in Polish – the doctors working there also know our native language, perform on-site examinations, provide a high standard of service, are discreet and nice. They handle the matter in the clinic on one day, in accordance with Czech law. And, importantly, these clinics are located close to our border.

  1. “Abortion was not a drama. The pregnancies were a misfortune. Carolina deleted it three times

Half responsibility?

The decision is made jointly – by the doctor and the patient. The baby can be aborted by giving the woman the appropriate drugs before the ninth week of pregnancy. Surgical – the first option that can be performed between the 7th and 12th week of pregnancy is cervical dilation and aspiration (the embryo is aspirated under pressure).

Another operation can be performed between the 10th and 22nd week of pregnancy – the doctor dilates the cervix and removes its contents. During this period, contractions can also be pharmacologically induced, the effect of which is a miscarriage of pregnancy. Multiple fetuses are removed by giving children an intracardiac injection of potassium chloride.

  1. She heard from the doctor: As long as the child’s heart is beating, we will not have an abortion. When it stops hitting, we’ll start saving you

On the website of the private clinic, we read that, based on studies carried out by the US Food and Drug Administration, it was found that 95,3 percent. cases of women undergo an abortion without additional surgical intervention. 2,8 percent of women causes a miscarriage by taking drugs. Another 2,8 percent. cases are incomplete abortion. And in the case of 1,2 percent. pregnancy after an abortion continues and requires surgical intervention. In 0,7 percent women have very heavy bleeding after a pharmacological abortion.

How for free

In the Czech Republic, the procedure costs as much as a good-class crib – PLN 1800. You can have an abortion alone or with a friend who is holding your hand. Abortion pills are even cheaper – their cost is PLN 800. You can stay in the clinic even overnight. What happens to an aborted fetus? Nobody asks about it.

Abortion in Poland

According to the statistics provided by the Ministry of Health, 2019 pregnancies were terminated in Poland in 1110, mainly due to fetal disease or impairment – 1074. The most common diagnosis was Down’s syndrome – 435 cases. In 33 cases, the abortions were performed because the pregnancy posed a threat to the health or life of the woman. Three pregnancies were terminated because there was a suspicion that they were the result of a criminal act – rape or incest

From January 27, in Poland, abortion due to damage or disease to the fetus is no longer legal. The law was changed after the Polish Constitutional Court ruled in October 2020 that it was inconsistent with the Polish constitution.

Krzysztof is tired of this bigamy in Polish – living with one woman in an emotional relationship, with another – in a physical relationship. After an abortion, he decided to withdraw from his relationship with Klara. He also terminated the cooperation agreement with her.
