IKEA from the Netherlands has long been familiar to Russian buyers. Despite the fact that many people associate the company with furniture and accessories for home and office, it produces quite powerful household appliances. We devoted this review to the popular IKEA dishwashers – we examined their characteristics, features and prices.
IKEA dishwashers – who is the manufacturer
PMMs were created in collaboration with companies such as Electrolux and Whirlpool, so they can compete in terms of parameters even with Bosch (Bosch) or Siemens (Siemens). Today, the corporation produces exclusively built-in dishwashers with an energy efficiency class from A to A ++. Manufacturers give as much as 5 years of warranty for their household appliances (except for the LAGAN series).
Advantages and features of PMM IKEA
What are the main advantages of IKEA dishwashers:
- Saving water resources. To wash a mountain of dishes to a crystal shine, you will need from 7,5 to 15 liters of water, depending on the model of the machine.
Important! A hand wash takes from 30 liters of water at a time.
- Full embedding. The built-in machine will easily fit in the kitchen cabinet. You can hang exactly the same door on it as the facades of your entire kitchen in order to maintain a single composition.
- Safety of fragile dishes. Respect for glass and porcelain is ensured by soft coasters and a dozen special holders for wine glasses. All this protects the dishes from damage during intensive washing.
- Well thought-out washing tank loading. IKEA PMM baskets are designed in such a way that the appliances are in a vertical position – this guarantees thorough washing and easy sorting when loading and unloading kitchen utensils.

The model range presented on the company’s website is not large – the easier it is to compare and choose the right dishwasher.
HÄLPSAM/ELPSAM
Narrow dishwasher (45 cm wide) with full built-in option. Hopper capacity is 9 crockery sets. There are 5 wash cycles in total.
Other features:
- height adjustment of the upper dish basket;
- removable baskets for cutlery and utensils, folding coasters for wine glasses and plates;
- leakage protection blocks the water supply in an emergency.
Technical parameters of the model:
- annual consumption of water and electricity: 3640 l and 246 kWh;
- water consumption for one washing cycle – 13 liters, electricity – 0,878 kW / h (energy efficiency class A);
- noise -50 dB;
- IVF test cycle;
- intensive, fast, normal and other programs;
- indication of salt and rinse aid;
- sliding type hinge;
- dimensions: 44,6×55,5×81,8-89,8 cm (WxDxH).
The cost in the official IKEA online store is 19 rubles.
MEDELSTOR/МЕДЕЛЬСТОР
Another narrow model of the built-in type, similar in characteristics to the previous one. Differences:
- 6 washing cycles;
- delayed start up to 24 hours;
- optical projection “beam on the floor”, informing the user about the operation of the PMM;
- possibility of partial loading of the bunker.
Technical differences:
- annual consumption of water and energy – 2600 l and 222 kW / h (based on 280 cycles);
- noise – 47 dB;
- water and energy consumption per cycle is 9,5 liters and 0,789 kWh (energy class A+).
The cost is slightly higher than that of ELPSAM, and amounts to 24 rubles.
LIGHT/LIGHT
An inexpensive model worth 19 rubles. Built-in PMM 999 cm wide. Energy efficiency class – A. Features:
- 3 wash cycles;
- hopper for 12 crockery sets;
- leakage protection;
- removable tray for cutlery;
- folding glass holder.
Specifications PMM LAGAN from IKEA:
- water and electricity consumption per year: 4200 liters and 290 kWh;
- noise – 52 dB;
- water and energy consumption per cycle with the standard ECO program is 15 l and 1,02 kW / h;
- programs of intensive and normal washing;
- indication of salt and rinse aid;
- 4 cup holders in the upper wash basket;
- Dimensions 59,6×55,5 cm (width and depth), 81,8-89,8 cm (height).
CLEAN/РЕНГЁРА
The Ringer machine is similar in parameters to MEDELSTOR, but has some differences:
- full body 60 cm wide;
- energy class A;
- 5 washing modes;
- hopper for 13 sets;
- holders and stands for wine glasses (soft);
- water consumption for one washing cycle is 12 liters, electricity – 1,05 kW / h;
- noise -47 dB;
- exact width and depth: 59,6×55,5 cm. Height: 81,8-89,8 cm.
The cost is 24 rubles.
SHINING/СКИНАНДЕ
One of the most “advanced” IKEA dishwashers. Energy efficiency class A++ (0,93 kW/h). Peculiarities:
- 5 necessary washing modes;
- 5 years free warranty;
- “beam on the floor”;
- a quiet sound signal at the end of the wash;
- delayed start of the program up to 24 hours;
- leakage protection;
- washing 13 place settings with 9,9 liters of water.
Technical specifications:
- Height: 81,8 cm.
- Width: 59.6 cm
- Depth: 55,5 cm.
- Wire: 150 cm.
- Weight: 37,2 kg.
- Noise: 45 dB.
Additionally, there is an LED display, a separate program for rinsing dishes, a diffuse barrier (plate) to protect against moisture.
The price is 29 rubles.
HIGIENISK
The most expensive model in the range: 45 rubles. Full size built in.
What are you getting:
- Hopper LED lighting for easy loading and unloading of dishes;
- 7 washing programs;
- advanced “beam on the floor” with the projection of the wash cycle time;
- auto-opening of the door at the end of the cycle for quick natural drying of the plates;
- quiet sound notification about the end of the program;
- maximum quiet operation: on the standard program, the noise level is 42 dB, on the “night” – only 40 dB;
- the bunker holds up to 15 sets;
- soft pins-holders of wine glasses exclude damage to fragile products;
- delayed start of the program up to 24 hours;
- salt level indication;
- leakage protection.
Technical specifications:
- the weight of the machine is 39 kg;
- wire length – 150 cm;
- water consumption per wash – 11 liters;
- electricity consumption 0,857 kWh per cycle;
- the duration of the standard mode is 225 minutes.
A good solution for the kitchen was also the Velgord model, which was similar in parameters to Higienisk, but not so long ago it was discontinued.
Important! You need dishwasher with open panel management? In this case, look for a partially built-in model from other manufacturers: Flavia, Miele, Siemens, Electrolux, etc.

I went to IKEA for furniture, and away we go … As a result, along with the kitchen, they persuaded me to buy a dishwasher, they say, build it in so that no one will guess that there is a dishwasher in the cabinet. Didn’t know with a girl What do you need for a dishwasher, so we bought a starter kit for the first wash Top house. Later they began to buy cheaper products from Auchan, the quality of washing did not suffer. The most important thing is that for more than a year we have not washed the dishes by hand at all – and this luxury is worth the money. Then MEDELSTOR cost almost 30, and now it’s almost 000K less (I recently stopped by for an oven), so take it while the discount is on. To be honest, at first I was alarmed, to put it mildly, by the strange names of the technique. But later it turned out that behind the funny Dutch words is the excellent quality of assembly and washing. In addition, there was a very clear instruction manual.

She gave herself a car — six months ago for her birthday. I am indifferent to washing dishes, but because of work, I simply did not have enough time for this activity. At first I wanted to take Bosch or Siemens, then I leaned towards LAGAN, and in the end I went to IKEA and bought MEDELSTOR. It’s always like this with IKEA: you go in for a stool, and you go out with something more expensive. In my case, I bought a dishwasher, although I put off buying it a week later – I just wanted to look. For half a year I have had a perfect manicure, always well-groomed hands and more than an hour of time was added to useful things. Haven’t taken it in for repairs yet. But I want to warn you about the downsides. I think the cutlery tray is wildly ill-conceived and inconvenient. And the spaciousness let us down – it’s still a narrow model, only later I realized that I had to fork out for a wide car. My rating: 4 points out of 5.
As you can see, companies that are known as suppliers of inexpensive and practical furniture can surprise and create pretty good household appliances in tandem with well-known brands.
