There are, of course, among those with whom Igor Huberman communicated during his energetic life, people whom he did not forgive meanness or rudeness. But immeasurably more than those about whom he writes with tenderness and admiration. His style and turns, irony and self-irony, genre moves and set of themes are unchanged and recognizable, so diligent reading of this collection in a row is not the best way to communicate with Huberman. But you want to take any of the volumes in your hands and read for your own pleasure from anywhere: the author on each page knows how to insert some kind of branded story, “where there is much more sense than in blurry detailed memoirs.”
