A goal is what a person strives for when starting something. Each of us has certain goals, even when we do not set them. The child seeks to hold his mother in his arms, the mother seeks to turn off the gas so that the porridge does not run away, the father at this time strives to work … We almost always have certain goals, only they live in our souls in very different forms. Sometimes they live in the form of desires, when the desire becomes acute and objectified — in the form of an object of aspiration. In people who are more conscious and strong-willed, the goal lives in the form of intention, and the more a person is developed, the more conscious and well-formulated his goals are. The best goal is clear, positive, and written down.
Focusing on people of a sufficient level of development, we can say that for them the goal is not just an object of aspiration, but a specific image of the desired result, a clear vision of what should be as a result of his communication or activity. It can be beautifully and powerfully said that the real goal is a dream with commitments to achieve it.
Does everyone and always need to live with clear, conscious goals? Decide for yourself. Vegetables live without a purpose, and in general they are fine. Most people live quite the same vegetable life, live without goals, like vegetables, and many of them are also quite well. If it suits them perfectly, it is pointless to argue with them. However, this does not suit some, and then they have a choice — either to dream and worry that life does not add up, or to make efforts and equip their lives. And then it is better to set goals, and set them consciously.
When our goals are not conscious, we do not set them for ourselves. Our goals are set for us by our parents and friends, thrown at us by persuasive TV commercials. Most people live aimlessly enough: they go shopping aimlessly, aimlessly start and continue conversations … We go where they lead us, in the mode of field behavior, turning out not to be the authors of our lives, but only a passenger, but once, which is even more offensive — only luggage. For a developed person, the goal is a clear final landmark, to achieve which a series of actions is carried out. The presence of a goal helps a person not to stray from the intended path, makes a person’s life more efficient.
For example, those Yale students who before graduation had clear goals and a plan to achieve them (and they were only 3%) owned more wealth twenty years later than the remaining 97% of students.
Those who live mindfully tend to set goals for themselves, and these goals can be of very different scales. A new day begins — we determine the goals and affairs of the day, a conversation begins — we determine the goals for the conversation. We think about life in general — we set goals for the year, for several years ahead, that is, we already set big life goals. A person can have many big life goals — to get a decent education, to live in his mansion on the shore of such and such a sea, to raise such and such children. It’s always better if your
the goals are ordered for you when you yourself know which goals are the most important, and which are more likely to be service or from the “I also want” series. The biggest and most important goal for a person is usually called his life purpose.
The purpose of life should not be confused with the meaning of life. The purpose of life gives it a core, integrity and direction, and the meaning of life says that what you are doing is really needed by someone.
Life goals often characterize energetic people, but life energy alone does not guarantee that you will find yourself in life where you want. You can move vigorously to the top, and then find that this peak is not yours. Setting goals correctly is an art in itself. It is not always easy to decide in which direction to move, and there are special rules on how to set and how to formulate your goals. And when you set a goal, you need to — amazing! — refine the plan and move towards the goal. But achieving the goal is another conversation. Good luck to us!
