If your favorite thing sheds during washing, this is not a reason to throw it away immediately. Such clothes can be reanimated by giving them to dry cleaning, or you can try to restore the faded product yourself.

Restoration of a faded product

How to restore a faded light item with dark patterns

If, during washing, a light product with dark patterns has managed to shed, use the store product “Antilin”: it perfectly removes traces of “foreign” dyes. In a machine wash, dissolve 2 bags of “Antilin” in a liter of water and pour this solution into a container for washing powder. They are washed without pre-washing, after which the item is washed again, but this time with detergent. But when washing by hand, 5–7 liters of hot water are poured into a plastic container (the maximum temperature is indicated on the label of the faded thing) and an Antilin package is added. Then the product is immersed in the prepared solution and left for 60–65 minutes. After that, the clothes are rinsed and washed with the addition of detergent.

The white faded product is placed in a solution with bleach for six hours.

A faded thing will be saved by a solution prepared from: – 1 liter of water; – 1–1,5 tbsp. salt.

Salt is dissolved in hot water and the product is poured with this solution, after which it is left for 27-30 minutes. Next, the thing is rinsed with cool acidified water: 1 tbsp is taken per liter of water. 9% table vinegar. After the product is washed with washing powder.

Restoration of uniform color clothing

To return the faded things to their previous appearance, a reducing solution is prepared. It is made from the following components: – 90-100 ml of ammonia, – 7-8 liters of water.

Liquid ammonia is added to hot water and the faded thing is immersed in this solution. Do not boil. Cover the container with a lid and leave until the mixture has cooled to room temperature. Then the product is rinsed with cool water and washed with the addition of detergent.

If a thick fabric product has faded, it can be saved by repainting

No less effective restorative agent from: – 1 tbsp. laundry soap; – ½ tbsp. table salt; – 1 tbsp. starch; – 1 tbsp. citric acid.

The components are thoroughly mixed, then a little warm water is added to the mixture and this pasty agent is applied to the stain on the seamy side of the product. Leave the “stain remover” for 11-12 hours, and then wash the thing with the addition of washing powder.

Another way to save clothes is to wash them in hot water with green tea. To do this, freeze a bag of green tea, after which it is brewed in boiling water (no more than 4 liters of hot water are taken per tea bag). The injured item is placed in a “tea” solution and left for several hours. Then the product is rinsed with clean water and washed with the addition of powder.
