If you choose an industrial ice cream, in a container, compare a valuable information: the line “of which sugars” in the table of nutritional values. This is the amount of simple sugar present in the product. In addition to the lactose present in the milk used to make the recipe, this simple sugar is often added sugar in the case of ice cream. Choose the product that contains the least “of which sugars” and the most protein. You will thus choose the product with the least sweetness and the most milk.

If you opt for a sorbet, it is best to opt for a 100% fruit sorbet: this will avoid adding unnecessary sugar. On the other hand, avoid water ice cream labeled “sorbet” by the manufacturers!

Remember: nothing beats delicious homemade ice cream! On vacation, make a point of quality: prefer a very good ice cream at an ice cream parlor once or twice a week rather than industrial ice cream every day! As for the quantity, be reasonable and stick to one or two scoops. Ideally, preferably ask for your ice cream in a pot rather than in a cone!

Anyway, avoid American ice creams and frozen chocolate bars at all costs! These products quickly see their caloric note climb by 50% with the addition of artifices such as caramel coulis, pieces of chocolate candy, cookie dough or peanut butter!
