Set your order

Do not abandon your plans, guided only by the fact that at your work it is considered good form to stay up late. Set your daily routine. Although, of course, it is preferable to discuss it when you are just getting started. If you suddenly decide that you will now leave early, most likely, this will make your colleagues think about how much time you generally devote to work. But in any case, state the reasons for your departure as clearly as possible. For example, that children are waiting for you at home. If it is obvious to everyone that the reason for the not very convenient daily routine is the merit of the authorities, it is obvious that in such a situation it is worth thinking about yourself first of all.

Come up with a solution together

Surely you are already ready to give counterarguments: “this is impossible at my work”, “it is not looked at well”, “this does not correspond to the internal culture of the organization”. Interview colleagues and figure out how to organize working hours so that each employee is as comfortable as possible. Think of solutions together. It may very well be that your desire to leave early will inspire colleagues to do the same.

Talk to your boss

Maybe you are in the captivity of your fantasies? Do you ask yourself questions and answer them yourself, instead of talking about your plans with management? How does he know about your needs if you don’t even talk about them? After all, the leader should not worry about your daily routine just because he knows that you have three children. You need to find a balance and do everything: stay in demand, not lose your job, not miss something really important from your life … Therefore, do not get lost in guessing about what the leader expects from you. Ask him a direct question and hear the answer: for sure, this will help you abandon the idea that you are vital to everyone at an inopportune time, and this is the only way to fulfill the plan.

Be a part of your own life

Dependence on the opinions of others is the main source of stress. To get rid of powerlessness and anger, start acting primarily in your own interests, and not in the interests of other people. And do not look for approval from the outside. Your choice is your reality, both personally and professionally. And balance is the art of living without going to extremes.
