For a resident of the small English town of Wallacey, the tragically ended first pregnancy eventually became an impetus to take care of herself.
In 2010, a 29-year-old nurse, Cheri Lupu, had a disaster in 2010 – her first pregnancy had major complications, and the baby was eventually born dead. The girl did not know where to go from grief. No wonder she began to gnaw at misfortune. Became a regular at fast food eateries. The grief did not go anywhere, but weight was added – after a few years, Cherie already weighed 133 kilograms.
“It was my first pregnancy,” she recalls. – And although it was unplanned, nevertheless, I was in seventh heaven, I really wanted a baby. Unfortunately, due to complications, my son Jaden was not destined to become a part of this world. I was completely devastated, and I could get a little distraction from my grief only by opening the refrigerator. “
The weight gained, however, did not prevent Cherie from leading a full-fledged personal life – in 2015 she met Marian, the chef, and two years later she married him. Soon, the girl realized that she really wanted their family to be complete. And she decided to try to get pregnant again.
Due to the complications with which the previous pregnancy proceeded, there was only one way out – IVF. Cherie did not find out about this right away – at first there were many months of unsuccessful attempts.
“Gradually, I began to realize that something was wrong with me,” says Cherie. “And I went to the infertility clinic.”
Doctors discovered polycystic ovary syndrome in the girl. The doctors were ruthless: the girl could give birth only with the help of infertility treatment technologies, but Cherie
You could try to do IVF at your own expense. But Cherie could not afford an expensive operation, which is why she tried to go through it at the expense of the state. It was then that she was dumbfounded – until you lose weight, you can’t even count on help from the budget. After all, being overweight is one of the reasons for infertility. And you can expect much more complications during pregnancy.
“I’ve always been a big girl,” Cherie recalls. – But when the doctors told me that I had no right to do IVF because of the extra pounds, I realized that something had to be changed. And now I feel not only much healthier than before, but also happier, because my dream of becoming a mother becomes closer with every kilogram that leaves me. “
Cherie was one step away from despair. She understood that she could not cope with her misfortune, so she went to specialists for help. A weight loss plan was developed for the girl: diet, exercise. The diet, by the way, was quite tough – no more than 1200 calories per day. But before that Cherie managed to gorge on 7-10 thousand calories.
Previously, the girl’s diet consisted mainly of food that is not usually called healthy: an omelette with bacon for breakfast, chicken legs with a double cheeseburger for lunch and fried ribs for dinner, plus chips and chocolates with sweet soda during the day. Now it is different – Cheri eats much more vegetables and fruits, instead of chicken legs – breast, and carefully monitors the amount of calories consumed during the day.
Hard? Hard. But the result is obvious – the girl lost almost 40 kilograms in a few months. It is no longer 30 points that separate it from the coveted indicator of body mass index of 17 units, but only two. Cherie is aiming for IVF in September.
“In July my husband and I are going to go on vacation to Antalya, and upon our return we are going to fulfill our dream and try to have a child – it’s not for nothing that I have lost more than a quarter of my weight”, –
