He organized a small alcohol production in his kitchen, the main character of which is a moonshine. From time to time I prepare a variety of drinks based on moonshine. And the other day I began to listen to reproaches from my woman. Allegedly, I make them only for myself.
After I was threatened to stop my home production, I decided to please my woman more often. I’m not henpecked, of course, but what can you do for the sake of a beautiful lady of the heart. I started experimenting and came across a recipe for infusing moonshine with an unusual ingredient.

What ingredients and equipment will be needed
My wife is very partial to tequila and orders it all the time in bars. Why our family budget is suffering badly – the drink is not at all cheap! So I decided to make my own tequila. The recipe is elementary, minimal cost and non-dusty method of preparation.
From the ingredients you will need:
- homemade moonshine – 3 liters (production using classical technology cost me 75 rubles per liter, for 3 liters – 225 rubles);
- aloe – 150 grams of leaves (grows at home on the windowsill, so the component for tequila is free!);
- granulated sugar – 3 teaspoons (I bought a kilogram of sugar for 45 rubles, I spent 5 rubles to prepare the drink).
Aloe is one of the most common indoor plants that adorns our window sills. Who loves tequila, I advise you to buy this green friend! To make moonshine with aloe, you need to choose only healthy, large leaves.

Probably, many of my readers will be surprised, but no special equipment is required to create exclusive tequila.
It is enough to have a glass bottle or pan on hand. You will also need gauze and several bottles (you can prepare ordinary 1,5-liter mineral water bottles).
The cooking process
I warn you right away – the cooking process itself is easy, but long. While moonshine from aloe is infused, more than 2 weeks will pass. But the result is worth it!
First, I cut the aloe leaves into medium-sized cubes, pour them into a jar and pour moonshine. Add sugar, stir and close the jar tightly. I shake and clean for 2 weeks on a cool balcony.
Aloe leaves should not be cut too finely. Better for medium-sized slices, as I do.
Important! The color of the tincture will gradually change. At first it will acquire a greenish tint, then golden. That’s how it should be!
Strain through cheesecloth, bottle and leave for a few more days. The color of the tequila will remain golden (perhaps with a slight hint of green). If you want transparency, leave the filtered tincture in a warmer and well-lit place for 20 days.
You can also use moonshine. To do this, the resulting tincture must be diluted with an equal amount of water and driven through a distiller. But they say that the taste is less intense, although it will be closer to real tequila.
What will be the result
Of course, the classic tequila is different from what I ended up with. First of all, the method of preparation. However, I want to note that when I gave my wife, a tequila guru, a try, she did not find significant differences.
The color is greenish-gold, as I expected. A pleasant freshness is felt – aloe perfectly neutralizes the taste of vodka. The aroma is a bit harsh due to the large amount of alcohol, but does not cause disgust.
This is such a beautiful tequila I got. The color is almost identical to the classic.
My Esposa was very satisfied. Now she can reward herself with a shot of tequila at any time for a hard life with me, without sky-high spending in bars. At cost, spending is minimal – I spent only 3 rubles on 230 liters.
What can be added / replaced in the recipe
I described the recipe, according to which I prepared myself personally. But I heard from experienced people that some ingredients can be replaced. Also add some variety.
For example, if you add 3 tablespoons of melted honey instead of sugar, the tequila will take on a sweeter taste. And aloe can be replaced with dried agave leaves. A more exotic plant, but, according to rumors, tequila from it turns out incredibly tasty.
Especially for you, I went to specialized stores and found an agave. As a result, I bought it and I think next time I will make tequila on it.
If you want to make tequila exotic, I recommend adding grated chicory root to the tincture. The taste will become more tart and rich. And in the aroma there will be unusual, but pleasant notes.
How to serve and with what to use
Serve in a beautiful cocktail glass. The girl must decorate it with a tube with an umbrella. I served tequila with olives for my lady.

I strongly do not recommend drinking tequila without a snack! If you plan to drink 1-2 glasses, fruit is enough. Harmoniously in taste, it combines with pineapple, orange and grapefruit.
If moonshine on aloe is served with a feast, it should be eaten with cold cuts. Tequila goes well with hard cheese and vegetables. But fish should not be combined with tequila, there is an imbalance in the mouth.
I am pleased with the result, but I think to experiment with the ingredients and still use the moonshine still. Although I was warned that this would kill saturation. Please share your feedback – is it worth the risk, which components are better to add?
