“I decided to become a surrogate mother in order to give birth to a grandson”

Surrogacy in our country is treated differently. Someone unequivocally condemns, calling it almost the slave trade. Those who are faced with the problem of infertility are happy that such a technology was invented at all. Lawyers are trying to legislatively regulate this area of ​​health care. And in the West, surrogacy is considered an honorable thing. And the approach to it is softer than ours. 

Sabrina Bowley, at 39, has four children. She first became a mother early when she was only 18. Sabrina’s eldest daughter, Jasmine, turned 21. She, like her mother once, dreams of children. But for her, this dream is practically unattainable. 

When the girl was only 7 years old, she was diagnosed with a serious cancer – Ewing’s sarcoma. This species affects the bones and tissues around them, usually affecting the pelvis, arms, ribs. Jasmine’s internal reproductive organs were affected. Both ovaries and fallopian tubes had to be removed, and the uterus was severely damaged during the radiation. 

“Jasmine was prescribed hormone replacement therapy in the hope that it would somehow help preserve her reproductive function. But it didn’t help, ”says the girl’s mother in a conversation with the Daily Mail. 

If the therapy worked, then Jasmine could try to conceive with IVF. But in the end, there was only one way out for her – surrogacy. This procedure costs 20 thousand pounds in the homeland of the girl, in Britain. If with our money, then more than one and a half million rubles. It seems to be a real amount, but who is ready to take and shell out one and a half million from their pockets? And this is just the procedure itself. We still need to find money to pay for the services of a surrogate mother. 

Looking at the torment of her daughter, Sabrina offered her … herself. 

“We discussed everything with Jasmine, with her fiancé Daniel. This is quite real – I am 39 years old, I am quite able to bear another child. I have experience, I know perfectly well how to do it, ”says Sabrina. 

The girl happily agreed. Still, because mom is the most reliable option. Daniel was also in seventh heaven with happiness: he assures that Jasmine is the love of his life, he sleeps and sees how he will nurse their common baby. And Sabrina is not at all embarrassed by the prospect of bearing and giving birth to her own grandson. 

“They tell me that I am a hero, that I am a selfless mother. And it seems to me that there is no feat in this. To fulfill the cherished dream of a daughter – what could be more important for a mother? ” Says Sabrina. 

And they intend to tell the unborn child the story of his birth as it is – that three people were involved in his birth, and not, as usual, two.
