Beer is a common drink all over the world. It was invented in ancient Egypt. Now on the shelves of shops and bars you can see various types of this drink. But suddenly all the rules of preparation are violated at the factories, diluted with water?
But we don’t really know what it’s made of. Now we live in such a time, everything should be natural! What is not a day is a new disease that affects half of the population. So I decided – I will make beer myself! How it all happened, read on!
But indeed, and I myself noticed that the taste of factory beer has changed. Or was the grass greener before?
I myself have not yet tried to brew beer at home, but I hasten to share the recipe of my subscriber Vladimir Stukov with you. Let’s hit the beer producers with a ruble!
Why I decided to make alcohol myself
I am a big fan of beer. For me, this is not just a drink, but an important component when watching a movie or a hockey game. Usually I take 2-3 liters of this drink for the evening, well, there are not many shrimp, fry them with garlic and that’s it for beer!
At first I started noticing that the taste of the beer I drink all the time has changed. And for the worse. It seemed that there was less alcohol – they dilute it! This is understandable, everyone wants to save money.
The second thing that led me to this was, again, savings, but on my part. A liter of good beer costs me 120-130 rubles.
And I can drink three liters of good beer in an evening with a good snack. 360 rubles per evening is somehow too much for me, I had to somehow correct the situation, but I didn’t want to give up the drink.
Then I remembered that a friend told me how he brews beer at home, by himself! I think why not give it a try. Nothing to lose, just my vacation. I went to him with a notebook and a pen to write a complete recipe, which I will now share with you!
What ingredients are required
Classical brewing technology is very complex and requires special equipment and a lot of time. But if you have hops and malt, then you can cook according to a simplified scheme.
You can order them, by the way, via the Internet or in specialized stores. So, the full list of ingredients for cooking:
- 75 gram of sugar;
- barley malt – 2.5 kg;
- brewer’s yeast – 30 grams;
- half a tablespoon of table salt;
- 10 liters of water;
- hop cones – 2 cups.
Everything is? Go ahead!
The cooking process
It is better to free the kitchen from strangers, you will need a lot of space. Close the door tightly so that no one interferes – let’s start!
- Malt must be dissolved in water. Better to use warm. After that, leave the mixture for 24 hours.
- You will need a large pot – 15-20 liters. As the day of infusion of malt passes, the mixture must be poured into a saucepan and boiled for 2 hours. At the same time, add salt.
- When the specified time passes, add the hops and cook for another 25 minutes.
- The resulting mixture must be filtered through a sieve. Then leave to cool to room temperature (less than 30 degrees).
- Next, add sugar and yeast. We leave the mixture in a dark and warm place (I have a cabinet in the kitchen near the battery) to ferment for 15 hours.
- Basically, there is very little left. After the specified time, it is necessary to bottle the beer and leave for another 10 hours in a cool place and the drink will be ready to drink!
What result did I get
And now the beer is ready, and most importantly – everything is natural! The cooking process, in my opinion, is close to traditional technology. You may not need 10 liters right away. Then you can reduce the proportions.
You know, I like beer and I don’t like trifles. Since I’m cooking, then 2 weeks ahead. The taste is rich, the color is golden yellow. And again, what a savings! Let’s count:
- 2.5 kilograms of malt – an average of 250 rubles in various online stores;
- hop cones – 200r;
- Well, the rest of the expenses for the little things – no more than 50 rubles.
Total we get: 500r for 10 liters of beer! In the store, I would spend 1200-1300 rubles. Saving more than 2 times!
And here’s what I realized – brewing beer at home is not at all difficult. Takes a lot of time, of course. But what a savings! Plus always know that no chemistry. We bought a bag of malt and hops and brew for ourselves, the main thing is that the wife does not kick me out of the house.
