Hygienic shower and bidet as an alternative to toilet paper

Do not rush to throw stones at the author with indignation. These sanitary fixtures can be really handy. And even irreplaceable.

The cup for water hygienic intimate procedures was used by the ancient Romans, who are big fans of various water-bath procedures and household amenities. But with the fall of the ancient world, the bidet was forgotten for a long time, difficult times came, there was no time for excesses in religious wars and the division of lands. Until in the XNUMXth century, at the French court, an amusing invention of earthenware appeared – a bath for partial ablution.

Now bidets are installed in most homes in European countries, Latin America and Asia, and in Japan, electronic toilets are also present in hotels and offices. In Russia, a separate plumbing for hygiene procedures is more of a curiosity than commonplace. Although gradually public opinion on this matter is changing.

The bidet resembles a toilet in appearance, but, as a rule, of a lower design with a flat bowl and equipped with a tap or nozzles from which jets of water are supplied under pressure. The purpose of the device is one – to bring cleanliness and hygiene in the intimate part of the body, washing away the pollution with water after going to the toilet. Therefore, in the bathroom, they are most often installed in a set: a toilet and a bidet next to it.

But not everyone can boast of a large living space, so there are options that perform the same functions: a hygienic watering can (primitively speaking, a hose that is attached to the wall next to the toilet) and a bidet cover for the toilet. The latter is a modern technological development with an electronic control panel, outwardly reminiscent of a toilet seat with an attached control panel. The sensors respond to the visitor by opening and closing the lid, including, as necessary, water modes of washing and drying, there are built-in functions for antibacterial cleaning of the device.

Bidet lids have several modes of water supply – regular, soft, pulsating and even oxygen-enriched, and others. This device, which has become popular all over the world, appeared in our country relatively recently – a little over 10 years ago, but interest in it is growing rapidly.

By the way, a bidet is not only convenient, but also saves time. And less water is spent than traditional methods of cleaning up after using the toilet.

In some countries of the world, by the way, the tradition of hygienic care after the toilet generally excludes the use of paper or wet wipes in favor of water and soap.

In hot climates, there is a risk of rapid development of bacterial infections from wearing synthetic underwear, long sitting, and as a result, the appearance of an unpleasant odor, therefore, frequent ablutions are recommended.

And to maintain the proper degree of hygiene, you need running water. That is, a shower. Well, or a hygienic watering can with its brother bidet.

Even if we do not live in a hot country, there are cases when a bidet really becomes a necessity:

  • patients after undergoing operations in the intimate area, women after childbirth are recommended only delicate water procedures. Other methods of hygiene, besides the fact that they bring unnecessary pain, are risky – you can easily infect an infection;

  • in old age or with serious health problems, it is not always convenient to carry out sanitary manipulations in full, and a hygienic watering can or a bidet lid will greatly simplify the task;

  • under pressure, the supplied water performs an additional function – a gentle massage. This is recommended for people with hemorrhoids or men with prostatitis. As a result, in addition to cleansing, blood circulation in the pelvic area improves, recovery processes are activated;

  • women on certain days of the month just need a bidet for frequent ablution. Aquatic hygiene will also be appreciated by pregnant women – in the last stages it becomes more and more difficult to carry out hygiene of intimate places.

In fact, apart from the solid pluses, the bidet has almost no contraindications. In women, there is a negligible likelihood of developing vaginosis, but this is subject to fanatical cleaning with water, when the natural microflora is washed out, and against this background, bacterial inflammation can develop. But this ailment is easy to acquire without a bidet or hygienic shower head.

Another thing is that the area of the bathrooms does not allow everyone to install separate plumbing. And the cost of a compact bidet lid starts from 10 thousand rubles, moreover, it fits certain models of toilet bowls, which are also not the most budgetary ones. Therefore, you have to pay for the convenience and comfort.
