The world can’t wait for the coronavirus pandemic to sink into oblivion. However, a new large-scale disaster was added to the pandemic – poplar fluff, which “covered” the streets.
The number of coronavirus infections in our country is growing, but we hope that soon the statistics will decline, giving Russians the opportunity to breathe deeply.
Alas, according to forecasts of the immunologist-allergist, candidate of medical sciences Nadezhda Loginina, the situation may deteriorate sharply due to poplar fluff, which has fallen upon the Russians with great force.
“The situation will be especially difficult when the poplar is in bloom. Very often there is an exacerbation of allergic respiratory diseases at this particular time. And poplar fluff can even become an active carrier of the coronavirus, I can already foresee this situation, ”Login said on the air of the NSN last year.
According to Nadezhda, allergy sufferers are at risk – this could lead to a sharp deterioration in the situation.
“Due to the fact that there are protective reactions of the mucous membranes in persons suffering from any allergic diseases of the respiratory system, they are more susceptible to any microbial and viral factors. Therefore, we instruct the patients we are seeing in a special way that they must more carefully observe all the precautions, ”the doctor said.
The flowering period of poplar coincides with the flowering period of grasses, birch, linden and other plants, the pollen of which is carried along with the poplar fluff, which causes extensive allergic reactions in susceptible people.
The fluff scatters only from the females of this tree. Cutting them down will not bring any result, since the poplar can change its sex.
How to protect yourself at this time and cope with the fluff that enveloped the city like fluffy snow?
Try to go outside as little as possible, especially in dry, hot, and windy weather when the air is most fuzzy. In high humidity, shortly after rain, there is almost no fluff in the air.
Do not let the fluff get into the room where you are for a long time: in an apartment, in an office, in a car. To do this, try to open the windows as little as possible, hang on them a fine mosquito net or gauze moistened with water.
Do a thorough wet cleaning regularly: if there is a lot of fluff, you can clean the room 2-3 times a day.
Be sure to use a mask outdoors.
When returning from the street, be sure to shower and rinse your nose with seawater.
Change and wash your casual clothes as often as possible, especially those in which you go out.
Frequently wipe down office equipment in the workplace that actively attracts dust under the influence of electrostatic voltage.
