  • Young inflorescences, formed recently, acquire a light yellow-green color;
  • Flowers acquire a white tint as they grow;
  • A rich pink tone appears on flowers in the fall, when the flowering period comes to an end.

Lighting can affect the shade of the inflorescences. They stay white longer in bright sunlight. In the shade, the flowers retain a delicate yellow-green hue. Hydrangea “Limelight” is valued for its strong and strong shoots. Thanks to them, the shrub does not need supports and garters. It is not damaged by strong winds. The branches withstand the pressure of large and heavy flowers.

Planting and caring for Limelight hydrangea

Hydrangea can be propagated by dividing the bush. It is recommended to plant a shrub in spring or early autumn. The soil must contain enough sand and clay. Before planting, loamy soil must be thoroughly loosened and fertilized. After planting is complete, it is required to add a root former to the soil, as well as cover the surface with peat and sawdust. Shrub care involves:

  • Watering – for abundant flowering, the plant needs a lot of moisture. The soil should always remain moist. With a lack of moisture, the inflorescences become small and inconspicuous.
  • Pruning – the length of the shoots should be reduced by 2/3 in the spring before flowering and also in late autumn.
  • Top dressing – the root system needs regular top dressing. Micronutrient deficiencies can lead to disease.

Hydrangea does not tolerate drafts and coolness. It is grown in a place protected from the cold. Sunlight will help you get larger flowers.

Fast growth and long flowering make it possible to grow hydrangeas for garden decoration. With proper care, it can grow in one place for years.
