Hydrangea flowers have an interesting feature – they can change color. As the acidity of the soil increases, the rose petals may turn blue. To do this, you need to water them with fertilizers with a high content of sulfur and iron.

Blue flowers – This feature brings together several different varieties of hydrangea that have their own distinctive characteristics. Here are some of the notable representatives:

  • Bluebird. Unusual, eye-catching flowers. Their core consists of many small flowers, and along the edges of the inflorescence are decorated with large blue flowers. Color may vary depending on the composition of the soil.
  • Endless Summer. Repaired variety, very popular. It forms a rather large shrub, which grows both in height and in width up to 1,5 m. The inflorescences are also large and spectacular, reaching 15 cm in diameter. The higher the acidity of the soil, the richer the blue color of the petals will be.
  • Nkko Blue. Differs in the rapid growth of the bush. Blooms profusely for a long time. Ball-shaped inflorescences have a diameter of 15 cm, and some grow up to 30 cm. If the flowers turn out to be white, then the acidity of the soil is low. To fix this and give them a blue color, spray the shrub with aluminum sulfate.

These are just a few of the blue hydrangea species. There are varieties that are completely unsuitable for growing in Russia. When buying, pay attention to the characteristics of the variety.
