Hurricane glass

Hurricane (English hurricane) is a glass with a low stem, which can be considered one of the most popular cocktail glasses in the world. Hurricanes come in several types with different capacities.

The minimum volume of a glass is 230 ml. The most common is the volume of 440 ml.

According to one legend, this glass appeared in the twentieth century in the United States at a foundry during a hurricane. The entire plant was destroyed by a strong hurricane, but an unusual glass was found in one of the workshops, which appeared, as they say, at the moment when the glass-blowing furnace burst, and liquid glass scattered throughout the workshop, and the wind finished the job.

It is precisely because of the special elegant shape that the glass has received such a name, which perfectly describes the glass in the human imagination. As a rule, tropical and exotic cocktails are served in Hurricanes, as well as cocktails whipped in a blender or with ice.
