Hunger is the body’s need for food and the acute feeling of the need to eat.
Hunger is accompanied by changes in all body systems, but the most important factor is a decrease in blood glucose levels below the permissible level and irritation of the centers of the nervous system responsible for feelings of hunger and satiety.
Do not confuse hunger and hunger — appetite.
Marik Khazin: “20 years ago I was starving for 37 days, and after the return diet — another 12. On the 37th day in the first case and on the 12th in the second, hunger set in. Hunger is not something we know or remember. It is an irresistible pain all over the body. It is impossible to cope with hunger. This is the cry of nature. I crawled up the walls like spider man. You can control your appetite — something that we have several times a day. Appetite comes from the head, from habit, and it is easy to control it — you just need to tune in. You can’t argue with hunger. And if you argue, you will earn dystrophy and paralysis.”
