Even if the house on the summer cottage is still under construction, utility rooms of prime necessity must be built. A person can not do without a toilet or shower. A barn also does not hurt, because you need to store the tool somewhere. Later, this compartment can be used to store solid fuel for the furnace. In order not to build each of these premises separately, it is better to build a utility block with a woodshed for giving under one roof.
For what needs to equip the interior space of the hozblok
Country hozblok is usually equipped with a shower and toilet. Not a single person can do without these amenities. Since the building is being done under one roof, why not build a third compartment and take it under the storage of tools or garden tools.
Temporary buildings are usually given small dimensions. If the hozblok is erected on an ongoing basis, then it is better to make a room such as a barn larger. At first, only the tool will be stored here. In the future, when the house is completed, the shed can be used as a firewood shed. Such a decision will save the owner from the additional construction of a storage facility for solid fuel.
Looking into the near future, you can think about a place to relax. A slight increase in the roof area of the utility block will help organize a canopy with an open terrace. On the site you can put a table with chairs and relax on summer evenings or after taking a shower.
In the country, you will have to work not only in hot summers, but also in cold weather in early spring or autumn. It’s good if there is a change house with a stove in the yard, where you can cook dinner and dry your work clothes. All this can be organized in the hozblok. It is only necessary to expand the barn, and you get a change house with a woodcutter, where you can put a small Canadian stove.
What materials to build a hozblok
The choice of building material depends on how long the outbuilding is designed for. If this is a temporary structure that will be rebuilt in the future, then it is reasonable to use inexpensive materials, you can even use them. The frame is knocked down from a bar or a thick board. Any sheet material is used as a sheathing: lining, tin, slate, etc. A capital utility block requires the development of a project. Such a building is made on a foundation with a supply of communications. The walls can be made of wood, brick or gas blocks. For the toilet and shower, a capital cesspool is provided. It is made airtight so that bad smells do not interfere with swimming or relaxing on the terrace.
Hozblok projects with a woodshed, shower and toilet
Even at the initial stage of construction, a project for a utility block is being developed. In our example, the building needs to be divided into three compartments: a toilet, a shower stall and a firewood shed. For the first two rooms, a small space is allocated. Usually booths are made 1×1,2 m in size, but the dimensions can be increased if the owners have a large physique. The shower provides additional space for a dressing room. Most of the hozblok is taken under the barn. If a woodcutter is located here, then the room should contain the entire supply of solid fuel, designed for the season.
In the photo for the purpose of familiarization, we propose to look at two projects of the utility block, divided into three rooms. In the first version, a porch is provided in front of the shower and toilet. Here you can organize a dressing room. In the second project of the utility block, the doors of each room are located on different sides of the building.
An example of the order of work performed during the construction of a utility block
To build a hozblok in the country, it is not necessary to hire expensive specialists. Of course, if we are not talking about a room the size of a residential building. An ordinary three-compartment hozblok can be built by any summer resident who knows how to hold a tool in his hands.
The process begins with pouring the foundation. A building with brick walls is considered a complex structure that requires the arrangement of a strip base. At dachas, such massive structures are rarely erected, and most often they get by with boards or clapboard. The weight of a wooden hozblok with a woodcutter is small. For him, a foundation of concrete blocks is enough.
A trench measuring 400×400 mm is dug along the perimeter of the future building. The pit is covered with a mixture of sand and gravel or crushed stone, after which it is poured abundantly with water from a hose. In the absence of crushed stone, the pillow can be poured from clean sand. The wetting procedure is repeated several times until the sand is completely compacted in the ditch. The base is left for a week, and then concrete blocks 400x200x200 mm in size are laid on top.
I lay sheets of roofing material on the finished foundation of the hozblok. It is needed for waterproofing a wooden building from a concrete base. Next, proceed to the manufacture of a wooden frame. It is the basis of the entire hozblok. The frame is assembled from a bar with a section of 150×150 mm and intermediate logs are attached to it with a step of 500 mm. For this, a board with a section of 50×100 mm or a bar with a wall size of 100×100 mm is suitable. In the future, floorboards will be laid on the logs.
The finished frame is laid on a block foundation, on top of which the roofing material has already been rolled out.
The foundation is completely ready, now we are starting to build the hozblok itself with a toilet, a shower cabin and a firewood shed. That is, we need to make a frame. From a bar with a side size of 100×100 mm, racks are attached to the frame. They must be installed at the corners of the structure, as well as in places where window and door openings are formed. From above, the racks are connected by sheathing from a bar of a similar section. For the stability of the frame, braces are attached between the uprights.
The roof can be made gable or shed. In any case, rafters are knocked down from a board with a section of 50×70 mm. They are attached to the upper trim of the frame with a step of 600 mm. Between themselves, the rafters are fastened with a board 200 mm thick. It will play the role of crates for roofing material.
The sheathing of the hozblok frame can be made with a tongue-and-groove board. In the shower stall, it is better to sheathe the walls with plastic, and fill the floor with concrete and lay tiles. In the toilet and the woodshed, the floor is laid from a board with a thickness of at least 25 mm.
Roofing material for the roof is suitable for any. The cheapest option is roofing material or slate.
In the video, an example of the construction of a hozblok:
After the building of the hozblok is completely built, they begin to equip it. This includes painting, lighting installation, ventilation and other works.
