Dr. Li Wenliang is a national Chinese hero. It was he who first discovered a new virus that was spreading at a breakneck speed, and at the cost of his reputation tried to tell people about it.
Dr. Li Wenliang was one of the first in China to spread information about the coronavirus on the Internet. He tried to warn his compatriots about the danger, but few listened to him. Soon, Dr. Wenliang and seven other doctors, who were talking on the Web about the growing disease, were called to the police in Wuhan.
There, doctors were warned and asked not to make “false statements” that could seriously undermine public order. But instead of shutting up and obeying the police, Lee posted the incident on his Weibo profile and outlined all the charges against him.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus, which by that time had not yet received its official name, was rapidly spreading in China.
As of March 17, more than 7 thousand people have died worldwide. The virus has spread to all continents (except Antarctica).
Among the dead was Dr. Li Wenliang himself – COVID-19 killed him on February 7, 2020. What happened to this doctor, who will forever go down in history as a hero, a few days before his death?
On January 31, he wrote on his social networks: “After receiving patients with the new coronavirus pneumonia, I started having: cough symptoms on January 10, fever on January 11, I was hospitalized on January 12.”
“I did a nucleic acid test and it came back negative, but I still have trouble breathing and I can’t move. My parents are also in the hospital. <…> I would like to clarify that I have not had a license revocation. Please rest assured that I will be actively treated and will try to be discharged earlier! ” – Lee assured subscribers.
And on February 1, he publishes the latest message on the Weibo social network. “Today the results of the nucleic acid test are positive, the dust settled and the diagnosis is finally confirmed,” the doctor wrote and laid out his selfie.
The doctor lies on a hospital bed in a respirator, and his skin is very pale. He probably already knew then that there was no hope of recovery …
On February 6, Chinese media reported on the death of Li Wenliang, but it was not true. According to recent reports, the doctor died at 3 a.m. on February 7. At the same time, his parents, who also became infected with the coronavirus, are recovering.
