At this point (according to data from worldometers.info) Poland ranks seventh in Europe in terms of the number of deaths due to COVID-19. Italy comes first, Great Britain second and France third. It is worth noting, however, that all the countries ahead of Poland have a much larger population.
In an interview with PAP prof. Włodzimierz Gut explained that a large number of deaths may result from delays in reporting to the doctor.
– Therefore, when they come, the condition is quite severe. At this point, there is a problem – he explains and adds that on average in the world 19% die from COVID-3. infected and the situation is similar in Poland.

New restrictions, “national quarantine”
December will also go down in history as the month of lifting and imposing restrictions. On November 28, we entered the “stage of responsibility”, which was to last until December 27, that is, during the Christmas season. The rules that were in force at that time include restriction on the movement of children and young people under the age of 16, catering only for take-away and delivery, the operation of cinemas and other cultural institutions, including gyms, fitness clubs and water parks, prohibition of organizing fairs, weddings, communion and consoles. All these restrictions can be found on the website of the Ministry of Health.
On December 17, the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, announced that there would be a “national quarantine” in Poland from December 28.12 to January 17.01.2021, 27, which astonished everyone. Taking into account the previous announcements of the Ministry of Health, which said that this stage would be introduced when the seven-day average number of infections exceeded XNUMX, we would rather expect a return to the stage “all of Poland in the red zone”. However, a modified version of the national quarantine was introduced due to the persistently high number of deaths.
Among the restrictions imposed by the national quarantine was the idea of introducing a curfew on New Year’s Eve. As Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki later admitted, such a solution cannot be introduced because there is no state of emergency in Poland. The prime minister, however, called for “non-movement”. Today is the last day of the year, and the no-movement rules still raise many doubts. In this article, we try to lighten them up a bit: New Year’s Eve Q&A. In the first stage, vaccinations will be offered to: residents of social welfare homes, care and treatment centers, nursing and care facilities and other places of stationary residence, people over 60 years of age in the order of the oldest ones, uniformed services, including the Polish Army and teachers.
