How to wash your face with lash extensions

Long, beautiful, curved eyelashes are easy to get these days – just sign up for an extension procedure at a beauty salon. But how to wash with such eyelashes? There are some nuances here. Let’s talk about them now.

Can I wash my face with water after eyelash extensions?

In the last few years, eyelash extensions have become one of the most requested procedures in beauty salons. False eyelashes are glued with special glue in the growth zone of your own eyelashes.

Those who have used eyelash extensions are well aware that thanks to this fashionable procedure, you can save time spent on makeup, since you do not need to additionally increase the volume of eyelashes with mascara. And it’s convenient!

At the same time, it is worth remembering that caring for eyelash extensions at home requires compliance with certain rules. And one of them is proper washing.

It is a mistake to think that you cannot wash your face. It is possible and necessary. But you have to proceed with caution. Especially in the first hours after the procedure: moisture is not good for eyelashes, because, settling on an adhesive base to which artificial hairs are attached, it can prevent the glue from solidifying.

Rules of conduct on the first day after building

In the first two hours after the procedure, any contact with water should be avoided. And in general, it is worth changing the approach to washing, excluding some products from the beauty routine. For example, oil-based cleansers, which are also potential enemies of eyelash extensions.

In order for the extended eyelashes to look attractive for as long as possible, special care must be taken on the first day after the procedure.

  • Avoid prolonged wet eyelashes.

  • Do not rub your eyelids with your hands.

Basic rules and recommendations for eyelash care

Skin care around the eyes should be delicate.

And although extended eyelashes do not like water very much, you will have to take care of them daily. Remember the minimum program.

  1. Gently brush your eyelashes with a special brush to prevent tangling. Do not be lazy to do it in the morning and in the evening.

  2. Extended eyelashes dry longer than natural ones. After washing, do not rub them with your hands or with a towel. For drying, use cosmetic wipes or cotton pads: gently blot your eyelashes with them.

  3. Rethink your eye care. Eliminate any oil-based products – they help dissolve the glue.

  4. You should not go to the bathhouse and sauna with extended eyelashes – any steaming can damage the adhesive layer. The same rule applies to salt and chlorinated water. If you are relaxing by the sea or go to the pool, avoid eye contact with water.

  1. Gently wet your face with water.

  2. Spread a small amount of cleanser over your face with light massaging movements.

  3. In the eye area, act gently and delicately.

  4. Rinse thoroughly but gently with water.

  5. Do not wipe your eyelashes with a towel, gently apply cotton pads or cosmetic wipes to them.

in the evening

In the evening, thoroughly cleanse the skin of makeup. Micellar water is best suited for this purpose.

  1. Soak two cotton pads in micellar water.

  2. For best results, place the discs on your eyes for a couple of minutes. Then gently remove eye makeup.

  3. Repeat the movements until the discs are clean. To remove makeup in the immediate vicinity of the eyelashes, use cotton swabs dipped in makeup remover.

  4. Rinse with water and pat your face dry with a tissue.

  5. Apply the skin care product around the eyes, avoiding contact with the lash line.

Life hacks for other water procedures

False artificial eyelashes require daily care.

It is clear that eyelash extensions are not a reason to change your lifestyle. But to keep them attractive for as long as possible, try to treat them carefully.

  • In the bath and sauna. The recommendation not to visit the bath and sauna refers to the first days after the procedure. If you do go to the steam room later, cover your eyes with a tissue or dry flannel.

  • In the pool. If you can’t live without a pool, but have eyelash extensions, you should get swimming goggles. They will help avoid contact with chlorinated water, which will extend the life of your new eyelashes.

  • At sea. You will have to give up diving, as salt water can damage the adhesive layer. Immersion in water without consequences for eyelash extensions is possible only in special glasses.

  • In the shower. When washing your hair, avoid direct contact with water jets on your face.
