How to wash properly

How to wash properly? It seems like a simple question, but not everyone will be able to really answer it. Therefore, it is not a shame to ask it once again to check yourself and make sure that everything is in order with cleansing and washing. Or is it still not?

Why is it important to learn how to wash your face properly?

Facial cleansing is not just a hygiene procedure. As cosmetologists have repeatedly noted (and we follow them at Healthy-Food), care begins with cleansing. And on whether we wash ourselves correctly, how and how well we clean the skin, its condition depends. And this applies not only to owners of oily and problematic skin prone to clogged pores. Everyone needs to wash properly.

What is the benefit of proper washing and what threatens to ignore this beauty ritual? If impurities are left on the surface of the skin or not removed thoroughly enough, this can lead to such consequences as:

  • dull complexion due to the layer of dead cells that we remove during washing;

  • the appearance of blackheads and blackheads due to accumulated sebum in the pores;

  • excessive greasiness of the skin;

  • ineffective follow-up care.

Skin care starts with cleansing.

How to wash properly

If you want to know how to properly wash your face (which we have no doubt), the following conditions must be observed.

  1. Wash twice a day – not less often, but not more often: too frequent contact with water, even without the use of special products, can adversely affect the condition of the skin barrier and lead to dehydration.

  2. Avoid alkaline cleansers, which are too aggressive and can disrupt the pH of the skin, which in turn leads to dryness, redness, peeling, as well as increased greasiness in oily skin.

  3. Use the right product for your skin type, read summaries and user reviews, consult with a consultant when buying. In choosing a tool, a matter of personal preference is also important. It is traditionally believed that oily skin loves gels, dry and sensitive – creams, cream-gels. Mousse or foam is a universal option.

  4. Wash with warm water. What water should you wash your face with? Every girl asked herself this question. We answer: not hot (dries the skin) and not cold (poorly removes fat-soluble impurities and sebum).

Features and rules of washing in the morning and evening

So, you should wash your face twice a day: in the morning and in the evening.

How to wash your face in the morning

What is the right way to wash your face in the morning? “The morning cleansing ritual is mandatory: it is necessary to remove sebum from the surface of the skin, the peak of which occurs at 4-5 in the morning,” says Ekaterina Turubara, Vichy medical expert.

For these purposes, any cleanser for the face, corresponding to the type of skin, is suitable. You can wipe your face with micellar water, and then rinse it.

How to wash your face in the evening

And how to wash your face in the evening? “In the evening, while washing, we cleanse our face not only from decorative cosmetics, but also from urban and office dust that settles on our skin,” says Ekaterina Turubara, Vichy medical expert.

  1. Do not use face wash as a make-up remover (unless the manufacturer has indicated that the product has this function). First, remove makeup with milk or micellar water. And then wash up.

  2. Even if you went all day without a make-up, evening cleansing should not be skipped. Start with micellar water, or you can limit yourself to only it, using a product according to your skin type. Just don’t forget to wash up afterwards.

  3. After washing, pat your face dry with a towel, preferably a disposable paper towel.

According to the biorhythms of the skin, the best time for evening cleansing is 20-22 hours, when the detox and recovery processes begin in the skin.

Micellar water can cleanse the skin both in the morning and in the evening.
