How to wash off a felt-tip pen and a pen from a child: 4 sure ways
Kids often paint themselves. And it’s not bad if they do it with watercolors. But if with felt-tip pens or a ballpoint pen …
Tested on myself: if a child is quietly playing in the room, then expect trouble. The trouble came to me in the form of a ballpoint pen. I am a very neat mother, I double-check everything ten times before leaving Marusya for a few minutes without total control. But the old woman, I mean, the mother, there is a hole. I didn’t notice, the usual ballpoint pen became the daughter’s prey. And she painted it on my favorite trousers, her pants, a bedspread and, of course, on her face, stomach and arms.
“Natasha, I have problems,” I complained to my editor, an experienced mother, over the phone.
“This is not a problem, if you wash it off, write it down,” Natalya said on the other end of the line and disconnected.
So, I have two whole tasks – to erase the art from the entire surface of Marusya and write this text. As you are reading this, I did it successfully with the first one.
I did not check the methods found on the Internet immediately on Marus. She traced her hand with a pen and began the experiment.
Wet wipes for schoolchildren
Once I asked my husband to buy wet wipes for Marusya on the way home. Andrey brought not quite the ones for schoolchildren. I threw the package into my bag, they will suddenly come in handy, and I safely forgot. I remembered only now that there was a signature at the bottom that the napkins erase everything, even the traces of a ballpoint pen.
It took just one swipe of the napkin to make the number one strip in my palm disappear without difficulty.
Pros: can be used outside the home; efficiently; no need to rub.
Cons: it is necessary to specially buy; not sold in all stores; can (theoretically) cause allergies.
Alcohol
There was no alcohol or vodka at home. The experiment involved an alcoholic tincture of valerian. The traces of a ballpoint pen slipped off me after three wipes. But I would hardly rub a child with alcohol. So you can burn, and poison – alcohol is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream through the delicate baby skin. I will leave this method for later, while Maroussia grows up.
Pros: affordable way; erases even old marks.
Cons: dries the skin; you have to make a little effort to wipe the stained place; not suitable for small children.
Soap
Yes, just like that, thoroughly soap your hand or other part of the body that has suffered from a ballpoint pen, rub it properly and … voila. Traces disappear, wash off, and the “removal” operation is completed. The experiment involved ordinary solid soap. True, the cub may be outraged that you wash him harshly and rub.
Pros: the most affordable way; efficiency.
Cons: for large areas of damage, you will have to take a shower; you need to rub it well.
Baby oil
I suppose any oil will do for ballpoint pen marks. Unless you should not use the essential, here it is not far from allergies. But I washed off the pen with baby oil, since it was with it that I planned to scrub my pest daughter. I put a few drops on a cotton pad. At first, nothing came of it, and I was upset: it was on this tool that I had pinned my greatest hopes. But after a few movements, the traces disappeared, and the skin was moisturized.
Pros: even suitable for babies; moisturizes the skin.
Cons: expensive; not always at hand; not the best way to use it outside the home, although you can put some oil in a small container and carry it with you.
I wiped off Marusya with baby oil, as I intended. Withdrew the ballpoint pen. It remains to wash her pants. So we have the next experiment ahead.
