How to wash the lime off the floor?

Instead of spending all day trying to clean up with plain water, there are a few tricks you can use.

  • Plain vegetable oil will be a good helper in this difficult task. Add no more than half a glass of oil to a bucket of warm water, wash the floor and wipe the dirty surfaces. If you put too much oil, it’s okay. You need to wipe the floor again, but now use water with the addition of a small amount of chlorine.
  • How to wash the lime if there is no oil on hand? Lime is an alkali and can be easily neutralized with an acid. After most of the whitewash has been washed off, you need to prepare a solution with ordinary table vinegar. Acidified water works well with white stains. It is enough to take 100 grams of vinegar per bucket.
  • The following technology will help to cope with whitewashing: first, the surface is washed with plain water with dishwashing detergent dissolved in it (one tablespoon of detergent per bucket). And then the surfaces are wiped with a solution of sodium chloride (add half a glass of salt to a container with water). When everything is dry, wash everything again with clean water without any additives and dry with a soft cloth.
  • For painted walls, a solution of potassium permanganate is suitable. We dilute potassium permanganate, the liquid should turn out to be bright pink. Potassium permanganate will react with lime. But you need to be careful with light wood surfaces. There is a risk of spoiling them.
  • If the dirt is very strong, the bulk of the whitewash can be washed off with gasoline. We take a quarter of a glass of gasoline for one bucket. After that, it must be thoroughly washed off with clean water. A mild vinegar solution will help get rid of the smell of gasoline.

It is possible to wash off the lime after whitewashing without much difficulty. The means that are used for this can be found in almost every home. And so that you do not have to resort to these tricks, it is best to cover the floor and furniture with a protective film, cloth, or at least newspapers before starting whitewashing. Also, when cleaning floors, you need to change the water as often as possible and rinse the rag.
