How to wash anti-stress toys in a washing machine

An anti-stress toy is not only a colorful children’s toy, but also a great opportunity to relax for an adult. Due to the fact that such toys are often picked up, they get dirty much faster than teddy bears and bunnies. Therefore, after a few months, the housewives begin to look for the answer to the question – how to wash anti-stress toys. Washing features depend on the filler, on the fabric and on the washing mode – we will talk about this in detail later.

Preparing for washing

Toys and pillows with the “anti-stress” function are in most cases filled with polystyrene balls. The balls are resistant to moisture, so washing this filler is not terrible. If you have an eco-product, and you do not know how to wash an anti-stress pillow stuffed with buckwheat husks or flaxseed, then you will have to rip open the seams and remove the organic filler. Before washing anti-stress toys in the washing machine, carefully inspect every centimeter of the cover. If there are even the slightest holes in the product, some of the balls will fall out through them during washing – and filter clogging cannot be avoided. In a severe case, the balls will fall into other systems, and the machine will have to be repaired.

If you are worried that the cover will tear, use a laundry bag. For the same purposes, an ordinary pillowcase can be used.

Advice! Wash the stain on the toy before sending it to the machine. Arm yourself with soap or any detergent and treat the stain with it. Wash off after half an hour.

Washing mode

Many are concerned about the question, is it possible to wash the anti-stress pillow in a washing machine? Experts believe that it is possible, the main thing is to choose the right washing mode. The most suitable SMA programs are:

  1. “Handwash”.
  2. “Delicate wash”.
  3. “Washing pillows and blankets.”

Important! Do not load too much laundry into the drum. To wash the product, it needs a lot of space.

How to wash an anti-stress pillow in a washing machine – tips:

  • Use wool washing gel. Such a tool will be better washed out of the fabric. Use a little less than what the instructions say.
  • Pour the detergent into the drum or detergent container – it doesn’t matter.
  • Do not use bleach, so as not to spoil the color of the toy.
  • Choose a low temperature mode – it is important that the washing temperature does not exceed 40 degrees.
  • Do not set high spin speeds – 600 will be enough, or better – 400 revolutions. If your washing machine does not provide for spinning at low speeds, do not set the spin cycle at all.
  • Select the extra rinse option.

Drying toys

Drying is allowed exclusively natural. If you have a trendy machine with a drying function, leave this feature for other things, and dry the anti-stress product in the fresh air so that it does not deform. Polystyrene balls do not absorb moisture, so you need to dry one cover. Drying Tips:

  • Dry the toy horizontally by straightening it.
  • Drying area: A balcony or yard (in the shade) is best.
  • Do not dry anti-stress toys in the sun, and even more so on a battery!
  • Before sending the product to dry, shake it to distribute the filler.
  • Do not wring out the toy if you washed it by hand – just squeeze lightly so that some of the water spills out in the bathroom, and not on your balcony. Blot the toy with a bath towel to remove excess moisture.
