How to wash acrylic paint brushes at home
Acrylic paints are a popular material for renovation work. They are also widely used in painting. In this regard, it becomes important to answer the question of how to wash acrylic paint. Brushes should be cleaned after work. Also, 2-3 awkward movements with paint can easily stain clothes, which will become unusable if you do not get rid of the stain in time. There are different ways to solve this problem.
How to clean acrylic paint brushes?
Get rid of paint on your brush immediately after work. This process will not take much time and effort. If, for some reason, you forget to remove the acrylic from the brush, then you need to prepare for a longer cleansing procedure. You can wash the working tool with:
- warm water – this option is suitable when more than an hour has passed since the moment you stopped using the brush;
- a degreasing agent – it is appropriate if the brush has been in the paint, which has formed a film, for a whole day;
- special cleaners, the most common of which is white spirit, which softens hardened paint.
Wear rubber gloves before handling cleaning products. First, the composition is applied to the sponge, and then the surface to be washed off is processed with it. After 20-30 minutes, the paint will easily be removed from the brush.
How to clean acrylic paint from clothes?
When working with acrylic, try not to stain things. If this has already happened, blot fresh paint with a paper towel, and remove dried paint with a knife. Next, use one of the following to remove stains from clothing:
- Isopropyl alcohol. Wet the area stained with paint. Gently scrape the acrylic off the fabric and machine wash. Under the influence of alcohol, as well as powder, traces of paint will disappear.
- Ammonia with vinegar. Mix 240 ml of both liquids. Add a pinch of salt there. Soak clothes in water, and then wring out, treat them with a solution and wash them in the machine.
- Dishwashing liquid. Get rid of more paint from your clothes. Then combine an equal amount of dishwashing liquid with water and treat the stain with it. Machine wash.
Use any stain remover after trying it on an inconspicuous area. If you do not have the opportunity to wash everything in the machine, it is better to take your clothes to a dry cleaner – a win-win option for cleaning almost any item.
