How to wash a wedding dress at home, tips
The wedding usually includes a photo session, a trip to the registry office, morning redemption and an evening banquet. After all these adventures, traces remain on the bride’s dress: street dust, dirt and stains. But this is fixable: you can wash the wedding dress to restore its former beauty and freshness.
How to hand wash a wedding dress at home
In most cases, the bride’s outfits are made of viscose or polyester, so hand washing quickly and effectively helps to deal with dirt. Start by understanding the magnitude of the problem: assess the size and nature of the stains, and make sure you have remedies at home. The skirt requires special attention: this is the part most susceptible to contamination.
Washing a wedding dress yourself is a doable task.

Stir a small amount of liquid detergent in warm water, place the hem of the dress in a basin with the composition. Work over the edge with a soft brush to remove dust and dirt. After 30-60 minutes, remove the clothes from the basin and rinse.

Use a saline solution to treat sweat marks. Take 1 tbsp. l. table salt and combine with 250 ml of warm water. Wipe the red marks with the compound and rinse with clean water.
Wipe with a soft brush dipped in soapy water will help remove traces of dust. Your movements should not be too strong, otherwise you risk ruining the fabric. For tougher stains, use an oxygenated stain remover.

Fill the bath with warm water and dissolve the washing gel in it. Dip the dress into the composition, rub again in the places where the spots were previously. Rinse the outfit thoroughly: after the last step, the water should not contain soap bubbles.
Can a wedding dress be machine washed?
Machine wash is considered less gentle on the outfit than hand wash, but as a last resort, you can use it. This method is suitable for a dress without rhinestones and sequins.
The water temperature should not exceed 30 degrees. Choose the delicate mode of the device. Do not use the spin and dry functions: they can damage delicate fabrics and the clothes will be hopelessly ruined.
It is recommended to dry the washed dress in a horizontal position. Spread out the drying rack over the tub and place the wet item on top of it. When the water drains, you can move the structure into the room.
Never place it close to a battery or in direct reach of sunlight: the fabric will turn yellow.
