How to wash a faded thing

Even if you follow all the rules of washing by hand or in an automatic machine, it is impossible to guarantee that things will not fade. An unpleasant situation can arise due to the poor quality of the material, the choice of the wrong powder, and other factors. Simple tips will help bring your favorite clothes back to life.

You can save faded things by resorting to a number of tricks. These are the so-called grandmother’s tricks and modern techniques. To return damaged clothes, bed linen and other things to their original color, you can contact a dry cleaner, where the product is quickly “revived” with the help of professional means.

If a change in the original color was noticed immediately after the end of the wash, immerse the item in warm water with dissolved powder as soon as possible.

Effective means for bringing color back to things

The most effective way to fight stains is to use ammonia. To return the desired shade, it is necessary to dilute the ammonia with water and boil clothes in it. It is enough to dilute 20 milliliters of alcohol in 10 liters of ordinary water. In the resulting solution, it is necessary to place the spoiled product and put the container on low heat. Now you need to bring the liquid to a boil, then turn off the gas. After drying, it will be possible to assess whether the color has returned. If necessary, the procedure is repeated up to three times.

For white things, the previous recipe can be changed by adding not only ammonia to the water, but also bleach. This method is good if the texture of the fabric allows such experiments. Use bleach according to the instructions.

Dissolving 0,5 g of tobacco in 20 liters of water, you can return the previous color of the thing. To do this, clothes are not immersed in a container with the resulting liquid, but a colored cloth is wiped with a sponge soaked in a solution.

Radical ways to solve the problem

If you cannot return color to faded clothes, you can try repainting them. For this, the usual bluing and the latest dyes for fabrics are used. To remove paint stains from things, you need to wash the products at the highest possible temperature in the washing machine. Use universal stain removers to remove stains. White things can be boiled.

The use of baking soda will help to whiten the fabric – by adding a few tablespoons of the substance to warm water, you need to place the thing in the solution and wait two to three hours. After that, you need to rinse the product well in cold water.

Do not get carried away with using bleaches or other methods if the paint stains do not go away. So you can only achieve a change in the structure of the fabric and the appearance of abrasions. In order not to lose your favorite clothes in the future, it is necessary to correctly decipher the badges on the labels and try to wash things by hand for the first time in lukewarm water.
