How to wash a blanket filled with padding polyester
A padding polyester blanket perfectly retains heat during sleep, it is capable of absorbing a large amount of dust and sweat, so it must be washed from time to time. This material does not undergo deformation in water, so it can be washed not only by hand, but also using an automatic machine.
More recently, people periodically visited a dry cleaner to tidy up blankets, down jackets and other bulky things. However, the capabilities of washing machines today allow you to do it yourself. Even the most economical and budgetary version of the automatic machine offers several types of washing at once, but this must be done correctly.
Before you start washing a padding polyester blanket at home, you need to make sure that its weight does not go beyond the permissible limit of the machine model. Keep in mind that the blanket will add significant weight when wet. Do not risk it, as repairing a home assistant will cost you much more than dry cleaning services. If the blanket fills the entire drum, then it is more advisable to contact a dry cleaner after all. Your task is not just to shove a bulky item into the washing machine and wet it, but also wash it thoroughly in soapy water and rinse it.
There must be labels on the blanket. Carefully study their contents, they will help you choose the right temperature and washing program. Otherwise, the blanket runs the risk of shedding or even deforming.
Which detergent to choose?
Pay special attention to this issue, since it is difficult to thoroughly rinse large and bulky things in a conventional automatic machine. For this purpose, there is a special shampoo for washing, it dissolves remarkably in water and is qualitatively washed out of the fabric at the final stage. If you decide to use the usual washing powder, then there is a high probability that streaks and white spots will remain on the blanket when it dries. Liquid detergent must be free of reagents and bleaches.
Be sure to add the extra rinse option to the main mode. You can do this procedure after completing the washing process.
A synthetic winterizer blanket is able to withstand multiple washes, does not deform and retains its original appearance for a long time. Fibers of synthetic material do not form lumps, do not fall off. The synthetic winterizer retains its softness and elasticity, and recovers quickly. After rinsing and wringing, the blanket dries quickly enough. After washing, remove the product from the drum of the machine and stretch it slightly, dry it unfolded in natural conditions. Turn the blanket over and shake occasionally. You can, of course, wash a padding polyester blanket by hand, but this is much more difficult. Read also an article on how to wash a down jacket.
