It’s hard to imagine a modern kitchen without silicone bakeware. Almost every housewife has one, or even several of these forms of different sizes and for different dishes. Molds are made of food-grade silicone, which safely withstands the temperature of the oven and freezer and does not pose any danger to human health.
The silicone mold can be placed in a gas oven and can also be used in electric or microwave ovens. Carefully study the packaging before using the form, which contains all the characteristics and rules of use.
Usually, silicone molds can withstand high negative temperatures, and they are also allowed to be washed in the dishwasher.
The new silicone mold should be rinsed with warm water, greased with butter or vegetable oil for the first and only time. Some manufacturers recommend doing this before every cooking.
The packaging should also indicate the maximum permissible temperature for baking – not all forms can withstand temperatures above 200 degrees Celsius. Silicone should also not be put on an open fire or in an oven on the grill setting.
To prevent the dough from spreading when transferring the silicone molds to the oven, place the mold on a wire rack or baking sheet before filling and bake with the wire rack.
Usually, finished pies easily fall out of the silicone mold and do not stick to the walls and bottom, you just need to turn the mold over or tilt it to the side. If the dish keeps up, use a silicone, wooden, or plastic spatula to help it out of shape. Do not use sharp objects, otherwise the cut form will not last long and the dishes will stick to it over and over again.
Silicone molds can be washed very easily with warm water and ordinary dishwashing detergent. It is prohibited to use chemicals and abrasives, as well as brushes and hard brushes for cleaning silicone molds.
Silicone molds are stored very compactly, they can be rolled up, folded – so they take up little space in your kitchen cabinet.
