How to update the design and interior of a living room

It is quite possible to renovate a room without much effort and cost. The main thing is to correctly place color accents and choose new textiles and accessories.

For example, we suggest looking at how a well-found color can change the look of a living room. Moreover, the items in the interior are the same: a rack and a Hülsta coffee table, a Machalke sofa, a Luceplan floor lamp (all from Germany) and an armchair from IKEA (Sweden). The position of the furniture in relation to the window does not change either – the rack is in a niche behind the sofa. White was chosen as the main color in all three cases. Such a background especially emphasizes the richness or tenderness of the rest of the interior palette. White organizes and visually “assembles” the space. Colors, ornaments and textures change, but the overall impression of a stylish, modern room filled with light and air remains unchanged.

Here, the color accent is placed on the niche in which the shelving unit is placed. Its entirety, from floor to ceiling, was painted in a rich yellow-green color. Locally, the same shade is present in accessories and tableware design. Hot pink as a partner is added to the textile drawing.

The display panel, painted the same green as the niche, could have played a purely decorative role, but it was used to showcase photographs and albums. If you supplement this expressive object with suitable supports, you get a kind of screen. In the meantime, the panel was simply leaned against the wall and fixed for greater stability.

It is said that the color pink has a beneficial effect on the condition of our skin. May be. But what it certainly affects is the condition of the walls of the presented room. They were painted two-thirds of the height, and the border was highlighted with a darker horizontal stripe.

As an option for textile design, you can choose an armchair with striped upholstery, and support the floral theme with a pattern on the curtains.

Red and cheerful orange act as bright accents on the white and pink background.

A special decorative accent – the panel on the wall – is a wooden frame covered with striped furniture fabric. The colors of the panel exactly repeat the shades of the sofa upholstery.

A small blown glass table lamp (IKEA) will flood the room with a warm reddish light. A chandelier made of acrylic and glass (Kare Design, Germany) is one of the brightest accents in the interior

Blue fjords, golden sand dunes, white sails – this interior is based on the flavor of Scandinavia. The lower part of the walls is finished with wood paneling. The rack in this case is equipped with a back wall made of white painted wooden lining.

Free space on the wall can be occupied with a collection of decorative plates.

To prevent the interior from looking monochrome, you can introduce an additional color. For example, grassy green. These can be pillowcases, elements of the upholstery of an armchair, a blanket, or just a bouquet of fresh flowers.
