How to update an old kitchen with your own hands

From tools and materials, you will need a ruler, a centimeter or tape measure, scissors, a knife, a plastic scraper to smooth the film.

Sequence of work:

  1. Remove doors, drawers and make accurate measurements.
  2. Unscrew fittings and handles.
  3. Rinse and wipe dry cabinets and drawers to remove grease and dust. Otherwise, the film will not adhere securely.
  4. Mark the dimensions on the back of the film and cut out the parts, leaving 1–2 cm in stock on each side. Straight lines are cut with a clerical knife under a ruler, curved elements – with sharp scissors.
  5. Peel off some of the protective paper and attach the part to the facade. Smooth out the glued area immediately with a scraper.

In no case should you glue the entire fragment at once. To avoid the formation of folds and irregularities, you need to glue the part 5-10 cm each, gradually tearing off the protective layer and smoothing the film with a scraper. You need to work very carefully with a film of a single color, because even the slightest defects will be visible on it. Finishes with variegated padding or textures to smooth out imperfections.

If the film is uneven, you can carefully peel it off and re-lay it. The final touch is to screw the fittings on and put the facades back in place.

Kitchen renovation with paint

Carefully chosen paint and stylish moldings can turn even an old headset into a work of art. From the tools you need to prepare a saw, a drill, a spray gun, a screwdriver. You will need wood glue to fix the moldings.

Instructions:

  1. Remove the doors, remove the fittings. Wash cabinets and drawers well so that the paint spreads evenly.
  2. Cut the molding into pieces of the desired length. Saw the ends of the workpieces at an angle of 45 degrees. Glue the moldings.
  3. Prime the surface of the facades.
  4. After drying, paint the set with a spray gun.

If flaws are noticeable after the paint dries, then another layer needs to be applied. Finished facades must be carefully installed in place.

Updating a kitchen unit is a quick and fun process. The main thing is to be neat.
