How to update an old kitchen cabinet with your own hands

It is not difficult to change the appearance of the product. There are several ways to do this. Some of them are easy to execute, others are more complex, but most importantly, everyone can do them. Choose any option you like and get down to business:

· Painting. One of the traditional ways. It will help freshen up the look of your furniture. First, you need to disassemble the cabinet into its constituent elements and paint over each of them in three layers. Moreover, each subsequent layer must be applied after the previous one has dried. Not such a quick thing, but the owners will be rewarded with the result;

· vinyl stickers. This method will not make cardinal changes, but it will definitely add new bright details to the interior. The subject of images can be very different, fruits and berries, decorated in the form of mini-still lifes, will look very good in the kitchen;

· Self-adhesive film. Another option that gives new life to old cabinets. The film is glued very easily, but it requires careful and serious approach. It is necessary to smooth the material well so that no bubbles remain. Even if there are any, they can be pierced with a needle and smoothed again. The film is also good in that it creates additional protection for the walls of the cabinet;

· Moldings. A common ceiling plinth can also be useful in cabinetry. The profile can be carved, convex, flat. Which one to choose depends on the tastes of the owner of the apartment;

· Decoupage. This option is suitable for creative people who like to craft with their own hands. Here you will need special napkins with which the surface will be pasted over, decoupage glue and acrylic varnish to cover the patterns on top;

· Decoration with ceramic tiles. This method will add harmony to the kitchen interior. It is advisable to take the same tile that was used for wall cladding. Before work, the surface of the cabinets should be cleaned. For strength, it is better to use ceiling glue.
