For two months, our special correspondent Vika Vilochkina will talk step by step about her mammoplasty experience – from decision making, fears and myths to the final result. Today we will talk about how to understand that mammoplasty is indicated for you? Expert Anna Ryapolova, Senior Client Relationship Manager, Assistant of Plastic Surgeons at TsIDK Clinic, helped us to sort out this issue.
… I always wanted big breasts as long as I can remember. Until the age of 25, I diligently waited for her to “grow up”. This did not happen. True, after taking hormonal contraceptives, the breast slightly increased in volume, but then it only got worse. After stopping the medication, my breasts sagged, and my 0,5 size began to look even more deplorable. In addition, cysts appeared in the chest. Considering all these factors, I decided to find out what a modern woman can have not only aesthetic, but also medical indications for mammoplasty. Looking ahead, a detailed study of the issue helped me make the final decision regarding mammoplasty.
The main reasons women really need mammoplasty are:
– ptosis (sagging) of the breast while maintaining its size;
– small size of the mammary glands;
– breast asymmetry;
– abnormal development of the mammary glands;
– mastectomy;
– replacement of breast implants;
– macromastia (enlargement of the breast to a large size, causing discomfort or physiological changes);
– the need to restore the shape or size of the breast after pregnancy, breastfeeding or sudden weight loss.
What is the motivation for patients to come to plastic surgeons most often?
Most often, patients turn to a doctor in order to enlarge, tighten or reduce their breasts for themselves in order to:
– to feel yourself confident;
– in order for the “suit to sit” (for someone it is a wedding dress, for someone underwear or a swimsuit);
– in order to return the past with interest (after childbirth and breastfeeding);
– not often, but some fulfill the wishes and sexual preferences of their soulmates.
What are the most common fears and how do you help deal with them?
Whatever fear it is, it is needed for something, it has a meaning for a person, this feeling is basic, biological, extremely necessary. It is impossible to get rid of it completely. Fear helps us survive, protects us from potentially dangerous situations. The most important thing is to understand what is behind each particular fear, what is its real reason.
The most common fear that our patients share is the fear of anesthesia (narcosis)
But after talking with the doctor and the anesthesiologist, the fear usually goes away.
In order not to get stuck halfway between fears and desire, you need to weigh the pros and cons, make the right choice for yourself, answer the question whether you really need surgery at this stage of life. After that, decide on a clinic that will offer decent conditions and quality; it should also be a medical institution with a long-term reputation and staff constantly improving their qualifications, for example, as a clinic CIDK.
Why do girls have doubts?
“There is no“ 100 percent ”thing in life. There is always room for doubt, and this is normal as long as these doubts do not begin to interfere with a person’s life and action. To do this, we have a free consultation at the TsIDK clinic of any plastic surgeon who will tell you “without embellishment” about all the indications, contraindications, and how it will be best for you, guided by your wishes, measurements and anthropometric characteristics.
It is also very important to choose the right plastic surgeon. How to do this is a separate topic. But the main thing that you should be guided by is that the best advertisement for a doctor is being in demand, ”Anna continues.
Can mammoplasty really be combined with removing cysts in the mammary gland?
“Yes, indeed it is. The first place where a patient who decides to have mammoplasty goes is for an ultrasound of the mammary glands or mammography. If, after examination, cysts, fibromas or fibroadenomas are found in the chest, then the next item will be a visit to a mammologist. The mammologist will definitely recommend in his conclusion what to do with a cyst or any other neoplasm – to remove or observe. If the doctor recommends removal, then the plastic surgeon, simultaneously with the breast augmentation, carefully removes the cyst, ”comments expert Anna Ryapolova, Senior Client Relationship Manager, Assistant to Plastic Surgeons at the CIDK Clinic.
