How to trim a cat’s claws
Prepare the necessary supplies:

- alcohol or alcoholic hydrogen;
- coarse-grained nail file.

Trim the claws when the pet is half asleep. This way he will not break free and remain calm. If your pet is nervous or struggling, postpone clipping. Train your kitten as early as possible to this procedure.
The procedure consists of the following steps:
- Disinfect the nail clipper with an alcohol wipe.
- Take your pet in your arms and pet it to calm it down. If the area around the footpad is covered with long, thick fur, use a clipper.
- Hold the foot firmly in your hand and lightly press down on the pad. The claw will open from this. If you look at the claw, you will see blood vessels and a free edge. Use a nail clipper to cut off the free edge. Place the tool perpendicular to the claw. When cutting, do not damage the vessels, leaving 2–3 mm.
- Cut the rest of the claws in the same way.
- Polish the sections with an ordinary nail file.
If you accidentally damage your blood vessels, treat the claw with hydrogen peroxide. After the procedure, pet the kitten and give him a treat.
