How can reduced cervical lordosis be treated?
Good morning, they’ve been bothering me for some time back problemsor rather his severe pain while working. I work in the office, so I spend all the time in front of the computer and that was what I dropped my symptoms on at the beginning. It turned out, however, that the doctor diagnosed me shallowing of the cervical lordosis. In the recommendations for treatment of cervical lordosis I got mainly information on maintaining the correct posture while working and moving frequently, even if it was just to get up from the desk and stretch.
When I asked about back pain, the doctor actually only recommended painkillers drugs for shallowing of the cervical lordosis. However, I have a feeling that it is not enough, so I would like to ask how to treat the reduction of cervical lordosis? Are there any other treatments for reducing cervical lordosis, and if so, what could I benefit from? I am also considering rehabilitation in the reduction of cervical lordosis, but I wonder if this form of treatment of shallowing of cervical lordosis will make sense and after what time its effects will be noticeable? The doctor explains how to treat reduced cervical lordosis
Treatment of cervical lordosis is mainly based on physiotherapy and changing everyday postural habits. First of all, when sitting, keep your back straight, keep your head high, not tilted, chin slightly tilted down, shoulders from ears, shoulder blades pulled down. When working at a desk, you tend to round your shoulders forward, stretch your neck forward, and intermittently breathe. Learn to recognize when you are sitting in a wrong position and change to neutral for your spine to allow for regular, deep breaths and to keep your neck muscles taut.
In addition, you should avoid sitting for a long time. It is about working on a computer or telephone. In addition to sitting in a spine-neutral position while working, you should also get up and walk frequently and exercise frequently exercises for the cervical spine. Also, when carrying loads, distribute the weight evenly over both shoulders. The health of the cervical spine should also be taken into account when going to bed. When lying on the back, the head and neck should be an extension of the spine, lie flat on the pillow, and a small pillow or rolled-up towel should also be placed under the knees. For side sleepers, a slightly larger pillow may be needed to ensure the correct positioning of the cervical spine.
Also at home, exercises for the cervical region should be performed: turning the head to both sides, tilting the head to both sides, bending the neck forward and straightening to the neutral position, shoulder rotation. Before starting the exercise, patients are encouraged to warm up their neck, nape and upper torso muscles with a warm shower, bath, or warm compresses on the nape of the neck.
Later, you should gently stretch the muscles based on the above-mentioned exercises, 10-15 repetitions for each exercise, which should last about 5 seconds. It is best to do this exercise twice a day: in the morning and just before going to bed. For detailed instructions on how to perform a given exercise, please ask your family doctor, he or she should issue a brochure with a detailed explanation of each exercise. If, despite exercise, the pain in the spine is unbearable, your family doctor will also be able to prescribe adequate pain treatment.
