How to thicken boiled condensed milk
Reading time – 3 minutes.
If the boiled condensed milk turns out to be liquid even after several hours of cooking, do not rush to get upset – you can try to save it. There are several ways to thicken boiled water:
- Make a cream by whisking boiled condensed milk with soft butter. Then put in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours and later apply as directed. Important: both condensed milk and butter should be the same – room – temperature. The temperature difference will cause the oil to separate and ruin the cream.
- Mix the dumplings with ground nuts or shortbread cookie crumbs. This option is appropriate if it was planned to use condensed milk as a filling for nuts.
- Add flour to boiled condensed milk. This is an extreme way out of the situation – in case the above products were not in the kitchen. Keep in mind that flour can spoil the taste of the boiled water. Therefore, it is better to darken them together in a water bath (10 minutes will be enough).
And remember that only high-quality condensed milk without vegetable fats turns out to be dense when cooked. Poor-quality condensed milk cannot be condensed in a day!
