How to teach a child to dress independently at three years old
At the age of three, children have “no” as their favorite word. They are mischievous, refuse to fulfill requests, it is difficult to teach them anything. To prevent kindergarten fees from turning into a disaster, start preparing your baby for self-dressing in advance.

It is best to start with a year and a half, when the baby is happy to take off his socks, hat, tights, slippers. Praise your child for this initiative and offer to undress yourself.
Simplify the task, buy comfortable things: elasticated pants, loose dresses, T-shirts, sweaters with a wide neck, clothes with large buttons and buttons. The baby will quickly learn to distinguish the front side from the seamy side if it has bright drawings and pockets on it. It is better to take shoes with Velcro or with a zipper. Most children learn laces by the age of five or six.
To prevent dressing from becoming a torment, create games. For example, legs are cars that need to drive into the “garage”, legs. Let the girl dress up the doll first, and then herself. Or offer a competition – whoever gets dressed first gets a gift. Help your child when he asks or is nervous or angry. See what he’s trying? Take your time, even when you’re late. The kid will eventually understand that this is his duty. And at the same time teach to order – he must put things in place himself.
Why it is important for a child to be able to dress himself
Psychologists and pediatricians are sure: the sooner the baby learns to discuss himself, the faster his development will proceed.

What a child should be able to do at three years old

• run, jump, step over obstacles;
• pronounce your name, surname, gender and age;
• say hello, say goodbye, say thank you;
• ride a tricycle;
• count to three;
• collect pyramids and puzzles;
• recognize seven colors and geometric shapes;
• understand the difference in the size of objects, their shape, weight;
• paint;
• fantasize in games and follow the rules.
