How to take care of your hair in winter?

Winter is here and our hair is not very radiant! Electric, raplaplas, too dry, brittle or too greasy … If it is difficult to maintain your hair, follow our advice!

In summer, hair is shinier, fuller and greasy less quickly. But in winter, the caps screwed on the head and the cold manhandles them. Here are some tips.

Why is the hair less beautiful in winter?

It is cold and dry, the humidity in the air is lower than in fine weather. This is why the hair is dry and brittle. But that’s not all ! We put on a beanie almost every day, which helps to grease the hair – so we wash them more often and that only makes the problem worse. The friction with the scarves makes them electric! Decidedly all the factors are there so that our mop is impossible to control and dull.

Gentle shampoos

Before any other advice, sort it out in your bathroom. All shampoos containing sulfates should be gone because they dry out and irritate the scalp. This goes for all seasons! Then, try to space the frequency of washing your hair. Two shampoos per week are more than enough.

Washed every day, the scalp is stripped, always produces more sebum to protect itself and the hair greases faster. Choose a mild shampoo and wash them off with lukewarm water. Massage the scalp to stimulate blood circulation and finish with a spray of cold water if you are brave! It will make your hair shine.

Limit heating devices

To prevent the hair from being electric, and in winter it is our daily lot, do not dry it by rubbing it in a towel. This would increase the friction between them and therefore the electricity. Style them with a wide-toothed comb and dry them gently with a microfiber towel. Avoid hair dryers, straighteners or curling irons as much as possible, which dry out the hair and make them brittle and brittle.

Moisturize the hair

The hair must be pampered at all costs so that it regains energy, shine and solidity. For this, there is no secret that it must be hydrated; but not just any old way. If you have dry hair, this is the treatment for you : once a week, after your mild shampoo, mix an egg yolk, half a tablespoon of avocado oil, a tablespoon of castor oil, a teaspoon of honey. Let sit between half an hour and two hours for best results.

If your hair is oily, opt for this treatment to be done one hour before shampooing. Mix 20 ml of pumpkin seed oil, 20 ml of jojoba oil, 8 ml of castor oil, 30 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil, 20 drops of niaouli essential oil and 15 drops of vitamin E. Apply, massage gently and let sit.

Don’t forget to brush your hair

It is a practice that our grandmothers cherished and that they did not forget in the morning or in the evening: brushing! To distribute the sebum from the root to the ends, brush your hair upside down and head straight in the morning and evening ! You can also braid your hair at night to avoid friction with the pillow and the appearance of static electricity.
