How to take a steam bath

Preparing a broom

Some steam with a sheet (fan themselves with it, forcing hot air). But brooms are better: the leaves contain useful phytoncides and essential oils. Birch relieves irritation and muscle pain, makes breathing easier. Oak has an anti-inflammatory effect, normalizes blood pressure and copes with excessive sweating. Eucalyptus is good for the respiratory tract and has antiseptic properties. Spruce branches stimulate perspiration, disinfect.

I recommend two methods for steaming the broom. Rinse, put in a bowl of cold water, then hot, and then leave in hot water for 10-15 minutes. Steam the broom with the handle, the leaves will last longer. Another option is to soak the broom in cold water the day before going to the sauna, and hold it over the stove before use.

A broom can replace scrubs and hard brushes – it exfoliates dead cells, nourishes and increases blood circulation.

We steam and harden

Begin by stroking with a broom, lifting from feet to shoulders, increasing the frequency and strength of the blows. If you steam yourself, try to massage the whole body, and then rub yourself with a broom. It’s also gymnastics – you wave your arms, bend over, stretch.

After the steam room, it is good to pour over cool water – this strengthens the immune system, increases the tone of blood vessels. To avoid catching a cold, lower the water level gradually.

In total, you can spend several hours in the bath, alternating between visits to the steam room with a long rest. Monitor your well-being – if you feel dizzy, go to the dressing room and lie down, rub your temples with ice. It is no longer possible to steam on this day.
