How to take a bath properly: tips

A bath is a great way to cleanse the body and restore mental balance. The main thing is to follow a few tips in order to spend this time with benefit and pleasure and not harm the body. Womans`Day will tell you how to properly take detox baths.

It is better to take a bath in the evening before going to bed.

Choose an evening when no one can interfere with you. Allocate 40 minutes for taking a bath: the first 20 minutes the body sweats, the second 20 minutes it absorbs minerals from the water.

Rule two: create a healing effect

Fill the bathtub with water at a comfortable temperature: not very hot (it is difficult to lie for a long time) and not cool (there will be no sweating effect).

Add 1 to 2 cups of epsom salt (also called Epsom salt or magnesium sulfate) to a full bath. Epsom salt is known for its properties to relax muscles, soften skin. The magnesium in the salt helps dissolve toxins and remove them from the body.

Epsom salt can be replaced with the well-known baking soda. A cup of baking soda in 200 liters of water is enough. Soda has the ability to cleanse the skin very well and make it soft and silky.

Rule three: prepare your skin

Massage your skin with a natural bristle brush before taking a bath. Massage movements from the feet higher and higher to the chest, and then from the hands to the shoulders and neck.

This massage stimulates the lymphatic system, helps remove dead cells and makes it easier to cleanse and nourish the skin.

Rule four: add essential oils

Aromatherapy will add pleasant emotions. The oils have a therapeutic effect. Add lavender or ylang ylang oil for relaxation, tea tree or eucalyptus oil for detox, or simply add 5-7 drops of your favorite oil.

You can also use fresh herbs and flowers such as mint or lavender flowers, chamomile, etc.

Rule five: create an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation

The goal of detox is also to avoid unpleasant emotions. When you plunge into the bath and realize that you forgot something or did not foresee it, it will be too late and unpleasant. For example, lying in the bathroom, you want to close your eyes, the light in the bathroom will seem blinding and oppressive. Therefore, think about this in advance and install a small night lamp in the bathroom, or even better, light candles.

Take a small towel and roll it up so that it fits comfortably on the side of the bathroom under your head.

Try not to take rhythmic music or a book with you, let your brain rest. For detox, meditation or silence is best.

Rule six: drink plenty of water

When sweating, the body loses a lot of moisture; in order to replace it, you need to drink a lot of cool water.

Place a decanter or large glass of water next to the tub. Drink a little during the entire procedure.

Rule seven: prolong the effect

At the end of the detox bath, try not to rinse the beneficial salts with water. Let the minerals work overnight. Get out of the bath, pat dry your skin with a towel, put on your favorite robe.
