A bath is one of the few spa treatments that you can indulge in at home. True, and this pleasure must be received correctly. Let’s share some hacks.
Why you need to take a bath
If a shower is more of a hygienic water procedure, then a bath is a whole ritual in which soap and a washcloth play far from the main roles. The entourage is much more important – yes, those very burning candles on the side of the bath, transparent bottles with aromatic oils, and even become commonplace, but still favorite placers of rose petals.
A bath is a spa ritual at home
Already want to take a bath? Then read and remember 5 rules that will help you get both pleasure and benefit from your home spa event.
1. Purity
The bath in which you intend to plunge into for washing and relaxation must be clean. Before you turn on the faucet to get water, clean the tub of soap, shampoo, and (especially) oils. This is correct both from a hygienic and aesthetic point of view.
2. Temperature
The water should not be too hot (this is a load on the heart), nor too cold – if you freeze, you will not be able to relax. Before diving, check the temperature with your toes, and if they are uncomfortable, adjust.
3. Time
Even if you really like to soak in the bath, it is not recommended to do this for more than 20 minutes. At least up to the throat. Warm water should not reach the level of the heart if you linger in it for more than 20 minutes.
4. Special effects
To increase the degree of pleasure from taking a bath, essential oils and foaming fragrant products with a relaxing or, conversely, tonic effect will help. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, such as lavender or bergamot, to your bath. Or use a scented cleanser such as:
Shower and bath gel “Grapefruit” Bath and Shower Liquid Body Cleanser, Kiehl’s, which lathers and cleanses the skin and smells great.
If you have sensitive or dry skin, use a milder, creamy formula instead of a gel. For example, Shower Milk, Biotherm. Despite the name, it is great for taking a bath too. Gentle oil-based and soap-free composition prevents the feeling of tightness of the skin. The citrus aroma of orange and grapefruit improves mood.
The skin of the body, like the skin of the face, needs to be exfoliated, so you can include a body scrub in your home spa program.
Nourishing Body Scrub “Precious Beauty Scrub”, Garnier will allow you to combine the pleasant (bath) with the useful (exfoliation). Formulated with cupuaçu tree seeds and 4 nourishing oils, it softens and smoothes the skin, giving it radiance.
5. Right after
At the end of the ritual, it is necessary to rinse in the shower, especially if you used foam gels, bath bombs or aromatic salts – there should not be a trace of these products on the skin.
Here are a couple of examples of suitable tools:
Lipid-replenishing balm Lipikar AP + M, La Roche-Posay created for skin prone to atopy, therefore it has excellent moisturizing and nourishing properties.
Intensively regenerating body milk Nutrix Royal Body, Lancôme has a pleasant texture, delicate aroma and the ability to restore dry, rough skin. Just what you need to complete your home spa ceremony.
