PSYchology

If you are a psychologist (a specialist with a psychological education), your article does not duplicate existing articles on Psychologos, has practical significance and corresponds to the style of Psychologos, you can submit your own articles for publication on Psychologos. You will be listed as the author, and a link from you will lead to your site. Authors who have published three of their articles can advertise their activities on Psychologos.

Requirements for copyright articles are not difficult, but mandatory. The editorial board reserves the right to reject the proposed article without explanation. Articles can be sent to [email protected]

Psychologos does not order paid articles. We accept articles only from specialists: psychologists, teachers or students of specialized universities.

Psychologos is incompatible with mysticism, parapsychology, esotericism and religious sermons, our basis is a materialistic worldview and a scientific approach.

Psychologos does not post scary articles in the style of sick psychotherapy. Often the author writes an article with the main goal: to show how the reader has a lot of problems and come to me for a consultation (or training). The tasks of the Psychologos are different: psychological education. If the text lists difficult problems and does not contain clear instructions on what to do with these problems, then such a text on the Psychologos is inappropriate.

Psikhologos is an encyclopedia of practical psychology, therefore articles with a practical output are of interest here. Write only about things specific, defined, that you can use.

Knowledge that is not a tool for practice is rubbish. Here we collect only what is a tool. And we write in such a way that it is convenient to use this tool: state complex things as simply as possible.

Each sentence should answer a possible request or question of the reader. The Psychologos does not contain texts that are of interest only to theoretical specialists, as well as texts where the author talks to himself, answering questions that are of interest only to him.

Psychologos is an accessible, but science. The terms you use must be defined, the abstracts are clearly formulated and highlighted, the abstracts that are important to the author must be substantiated.

Thesis is the main or one of the main thoughts of the author, stated as briefly and succinctly as possible. A strong thesis contains instructions, an indication of “how to do it right” and “what to do”.

The most common justifications are references to authoritative sources, experimental studies or reasoning: a clear rationale from obvious premises.

On the other hand, scientific texts often sin with abstruse scientism. Texts created in the Psychologos must be presented in an understandable language that is accessible to a person with a higher education, even if he is not a psychologist.

The article must be competent in all respects. Make sure that your text has a clear structure — «footcloth articles» containing the flow of the author’s scientific consciousness are prohibited in the Psychologos. If the article has subheadings, they should be named and clearly separated from each other.

For example, the article has three parts (subchapters): causes of aggressive behavior, response to aggressive behavior, prevention of aggressive behavior. All three subheadings should be titled and separated from each other.

The volume of articles is from 4.000 to 14.000 characters. If the article exceeds this length, please shorten it or split it into two (or more) parts.

Each subchapter of an article should have logic and a consistent presentation. If a new thought begins, separate it into a new paragraph. Let all your thoughts be highlighted clearly.

The usual structure of a logical, consistent presentation: thesis — illustration — justification — conclusions. Make the abstracts clear, the justifications obvious, it is better to highlight the illustrations in a separate paragraph.

So, again briefly:

  • Introduce yourself, indicate your education, write which university you graduated from.
  • Check that the topic or content of your article does not duplicate what has already been published on Psychologos.
  • Check the length of the text — up to 14.000 characters.
  • Place the text in Word and check it for spelling and grammar.
  • Select subheadings and title them.
  • Make the abstracts and justifications explicit, highlight the illustrations with a spacer.
  • Define the terms, justify the theses, write everything complicated in a simpler way.
  • Remove scarecrows and descriptions of problems, this does not lead to anything.
  • Highlight and reinforce practical recommendations.
  • Ads — remove.

Make sure your article is neatly formatted. A sloppy article is an additional work of the editorial board, so the article should be checked for grammatical and spelling errors. If links are given in the article, they must be formatted properly.
