How to style your hair: options for protruding ears

If lop-earedness interferes with living calmly and feeling confident, then a professionally selected haircut or hairstyle will help to solve this problem.

Many girls suffer from protruding ears. In fact, this is a big problem, because not all haircuts and styling are suitable. The main goal is to disguise your ears so that no one even thinks that they are sticking out of you. We asked an expert how this flaw could be hidden without much effort.

Violetta Averyanova, hairdresser-stylist, teacher and founder of the beauty studio:

– If your ears stick out, then it is always worth remembering that we do not open our face with styling, but, on the contrary, cover it with hair. Therefore, smooth hairstyles such as a high ponytail or bun, shell, back styling, or a smooth braid should be avoided.

In hairstyles, you must always release strands from the face or do styling that creates volume in the problem area. Tools required for this: a round comb and a hair dryer or a corrugated iron.

Your main trump card is the right haircut. If you like model haircuts, then the volume should fall on the front of the face, it is advisable to choose the length of the hair not shorter than the earlobe. Examples of such haircuts: bob, bob and page, asymmetrical styling with covered ears.

Loose long hair by itself well hides any shape of the ears. To prevent hair from looking “slick”, add volume at the top. You can cut in tiers, make hair of different lengths – shorter near the face, and gradually moving to the entire length.

Curls look especially good, they create a beautiful volume. They can be wound on an iron or curling iron, and then combed with your hands, you get a careless and romantic styling.

Styling options:

In order to have volume, we recommend starting by twisting the strands from the very roots using a corrugation iron. To make the styling look more natural, you do not need to wrap the top layer of hair. Then twist the ends and tie the hair in a side tail, separate one small curl, wrap it around the base of the tail and secure the curl with invisibility. This hairstyle has many varieties – for example, several strands can be braided or twisted into a plait and tied together with the rest of the hair in a ponytail.

The lightest hairstyle for a romantic look that can be done in two minutes. Braid from the front of your head, secure the end with an elastic band. And then add a little volume to it, slightly fluffing the weaving, leave a few strands near the face. Do not forget to fix your hair with varnish.

Volumetric bunches with strands released from the hair at the face look good. Gather a bun in the lower occipital area, leaving a small section of hair near your face, then curl it up and pin it to your bun using the bobby pins. Or divide your hair into three parts – the larger part in the middle, you need to make a bun out of it and secure with hairpins. From the remaining hair, make bundles or pigtails and wrap a bun with them. Do not forget to make a small volume in the ear area.

Greek braids on the side or behind will also be an excellent option, they are just intended to cover the area of the ears. A Greek hairstyle is easy to do with a headband. To do this, make a root bouffant on the back of the head and on the sides, then wind the hair on a curling iron, put on a bandage, tuck the hair over it without pulling it. Be sure to fix everything with varnish.

This styling gives the impression of a careless styling, suitable for every day. It is desirable that the hair be the same length below the shoulders. Wrap your hair on a curling iron, the curls should look slightly curly. Next, we separate a thin strand from the temple, twist it into a tourniquet and fasten it on the back of the head with an invisibility, to it we add a strand on the other side of the face, twisted into the same tourniquet. We take the next curl again from the right side and, by analogy, lay the second pair of plaits. And so we form about 5 rows.

First, comb your hair well and wind the thin strands onto the curling iron. In the upper part of the hair, you need to make a light bouffant and lower it to the back of the head, attach the side curls and fix it with a hairpin or invisible hairpins. Fix the hairstyle with a medium hold nail polish.

Straighten the combed hair with an iron, if you need to give it smoothness and make a not very dense tail at the bottom with the help of an elastic band. The ears are covered with hair. Next, we make a parting over the elastic and push the tail there until a bunch is formed. We fix the ends with invisible ones and fix everything with varnish.

Very stylish and original styling, especially for curly hair. All hair is divided into strands of approximately the same thickness, which are tightly twisted into a bundle and laid around their axis. Each flagellum must be secured with an invisible or hairpin.

Life hacks from an expert

If the hair is not too thick and it is difficult to hide the protruding ears, you can use overhead strands, just be sure to fasten them so that the hairpins do not peep through the hair. To do this, varnish the strand that covers the hair clip so that it does not move anywhere during the day.

In order to keep the volume on the hair and not look artificial, use alternative means instead of varnish. Powder or dry shampoo will do an excellent job, they remove grease from the roots, but do not stick the hair; due to this, the volume does not fall and looks absolutely natural.
