In pumpkin season, everyone is obliged to enjoy this vegetable. After all, pumpkin is very widely used in cooking. You can cook a huge number of dishes from it. Pumpkin is eaten raw and thermally processed. It is great for fresh salads, juices, soups, pies, pancakes, casseroles, stews, candied fruits, etc.
Fresh pumpkin can be stored for a long period of time, but only if we talk about the whole fruit. A couple of recommendations and you can safely go to replenish stocks for the next couple of months:
– Choose a dark, ventilated place to store the pumpkin;
– The ideal temperature for storing pumpkin is not lower than + 5C and not higher than + 10C;
– Cover the pumpkin with a cloth to prevent direct sunlight;
– If the temperature drops below + 2C, be sure to wrap the fruits in a warm blanket.
How to store cut pumpkin:
– In the fridge. Sliced pumpkin, peeled and peeled, can be refrigerated for up to 1 week. Simply put the prepared pumpkin in a plastic container, close the lid and leave until use;
– In the freezer. Frozen pumpkin can be stored for up to a month. Place prepared pulp in bags or plastic containers and freeze. Please note that the pumpkin may become too watery after defrosting, so allow excess liquid to drain off before use.
